Vehicle description

OVERALL This vehicle has seen only gentle use under my ownership (7 years), and with all repairs/fixes done recently, (over $15k worth of repairs) now drives the way it was meant to be experienced. Still quiet and comfortable inside while driving for a sports car, with no undue rattles or other noises that would give away its age. I had replaced parts and stayed at the OEM level (for the most part) since this was not intended to be a track toy, and wanted to maintain the reliability aspect in its design. You will be saving a lot of money from not having to bring this back up to spec! Unfortunately for me, the car no longer fits into my life plans – but hopefully someone can enjoy what’s been rebuilt! DISCLAIMER: The information contained herein is, to the best of my knowledge and belief, accurate and current as of the date of this listing. Details of its condition, and subsequent upgrades (and quirks) areas follows: 2003 Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe (The "sport" part pretty much means you get an 18" staggered wheel setup out-of-the-box) 233,263 miles on the chassis Completely rebuilt automatic transmission Replaced engine with same VQ35DE (with 50k at time of pull) and reinforced it to ensure reliability (see specific details below) Replaced fuel delivery system (see specific details below) Replaced all suspension components with parts meeting or exceeding OEM specifications Replaced all HVAC (Air Conditioning) components V6 3.5 Leather interior in good condition overall, with minor tearing on the edge of the driver seat Bose Sound system In-car factory navigation (still working off original US maps DVD) Power Sunroof Power adjustable front seats with powered lumbar adjustments for driver side Factory wheels, factory staggered setup Spoiler All service records and a link to the most recent inspection/maintenance report from my mechanic will be provided upon sale. SPECIFIC DETAILS Engine/Transmission New engine replacement. Replaced with another VQ35DE with approximately 50k miles on the clock at the time of pull. Before this new engine went in I bought a reinforced rear oil galley gasket, and valve cover gasket, and had the nice folks at my mechanic"s shop install them. The rear oil galley gasket requires that the timing cover (which is located in the rear of the engine) must be removed in order to access it. When this gasket ruptures, it creates a situation where oil will start leaking internally, causing a dangerously low oil pressure drop. This results in a highly misleading and seemingly unsolvable CEL (P0011/P0021 Check this out: these guys talk about it in great detail - https:/ g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v36-2007-08/436179-cause-dreaded-p0011-p0021-codes-everyone-curious-about.html) The reason this happens is due to a design decision from Nissan on the early VQ35DE engines where a flimsy oil galley gasket was used. And unless one knows the root cause of this issue when they see it persisting after they"ve tried to resolve it, it"s a very difficult and expensive set of fixes. By then: how long has one been putting load on the engine with reduced oil pressure? And what kind of accelerated wear/damage has already occurred as a result? (especially when one takes into account the oil consumption issue that arises later in the VQ35DE"s lifetime) This issue, uncorrected/unchecked, manifests in the VQ35DE at around 150K+, but happened to this vehicle"s original engine at 208,655 miles. So I opted to replace the engine entirely with another of the same type, and have these corrections (new reinforced rear oil galley gasket, and new valve cover gasket for good measure) made on the new engine during pre-installation to ensure the longevity of this new engine, which was inspected by the mechanics prior to installation. Will provide service record upon sale. Automatic transmission completely rebuilt: Nothing special to say here. Transmission failed at 200k, and took to a shop where they proposed a complete replacement of all internals with new OEM spec parts, which I accepted. Will provide service record upon sale. It has performed flawlessly since then, with my mechanic reporting that the transmission fluid condition is good on every visit. (trans fluid inspections/reports were additional services that were requested every oil change/inspection visit) Replaced engine wiring harness with an OEM one that was in great condition. The weather/age had taken its toll on the original/old one, and while it wasn"t experiencing issues, it"s a precaution I wanted to take and seized the opportunity to do so since the original engine was coming out anyway. Replaced entire Air Conditioning system with a brand new one. About a month or so after the engine replacement, the original AC system failed while I was driving on the freeway, prompting me to start an order for all new components (lines, condenser, compressor, drier) to ensure the system remains reliable and performant. New AC runs as expected. Will provide service record upon sale. Replaced Fuel pump assembly (fuel delivery system) with a brand new one (OEM spec) Suspension Replaced all 4 wheel hub/bearing assemblies for safety and reliability. Quiet and smooth as can be for a vehicle of this type. Replaced shocks and struts with tokico gas shocks Replaced all suspension arms/components with OEM spec parts, with an exception for the front lower control arms which are now using polyurethane bushings where the arms join to the body for added durability. (rubber bushings in the front lower control arms simply do not last) Feels composed and agile while handling once more, without sacrificing comfort. Not that it wasn"t before, but old suspension components simply aren"t going to feel as confident and predictable with the resultant sag and play that comes from natural wear and tear over years of continuous use. Replaced Brake calipers (OEM spec) Replaced Brake lines with Stop-Tech stainless steel brake lines. Makes an already responsive stock braking system feel more confident and predictable. Replaced Power Steering rack, and Power Steering high pressure line to ensure reliability, and restore steering feel/fluency Slotted rotors, ceramic pads at ~70% Lighting/Misc Replaced headlights with aftermarket HID-low projector, LED-high/accent Headlights. These sport Integrated LED Daytime running lights & sequential turn signal lights. These, though aftermarket, appear to have been thoughtfully designed for this model, with the daytime running lights complimenting the vehicle"s body lines. Also replaced the highs with LEDs, which, combined with the design of the reflector housing, makes the high beams useful as a flood light when extra illumination is needed. The LED highs are color-matched with the factory HIDs. (5000k)These were a drop-in replacement, which required no modifications to the harness. Replaced interior, courtesy, and rear license plate lights with bright LEDs, color-matched with headlights (5000k) Replaced old, tired horn Replaced door lock actuators with more durable aftermarket alternatives QUIRKS/ISSUES Thank you for reading this far. In an effort to ensure that I"m being as upfront as possible about the condition of the car, I"ll list the quirks and issues from the biggest to smallest: Scratching/dent on the front passenger-side corner panel/bumper. (detailed image of this in photos) This occurred due to me exiting a really tight parking space at the wrong angle, and scraping a brick barrier/wall. Hood appears to be slightly off-center/tweaked. Not sure if this was due to vandalism under the previous owner, (the vehicle report I ran at the time of purchase showed no accidents) but my mechanic straightened it as best they could to ensure it closed properly. (also seen in photos) Previous owner repainted hood, and was a close color match to the original. (Diamond Graphite Metallic) However, the difference can be seen upon close inspection. Minor paint chipping at the hood"s contour point When refueling at certain gas pumps, the flow will stop prematurely. (even when filling at slower speeds) One has to angle the gas pump until the automatic shutoff is no longer prematurely triggered by the pump. When using the turn signal, the audible indicator (clicking sound) works intermittently at random. Otherwise the turn signals blink at the correct rate with no other issues. CD Player no longer working, stock Bose sound system working well otherwise
