THE ULTIMATE DURAMAX POWERED 4x4 SUV For sale by owner: Fully Loaded GMC Yukon XL 2500 SLT/Denali with 2014 600hp 6.6 LML Duramax Engine, Allison Transmission, and 11.5" HD Rear Differential. COGNITO suspension with KING adjustable remote reservoir shocks. No Rust, Georgia truck.
This Yukon XL 2500 started off as a hard to find, highly optioned, SLT trim level with heated/cooled/memory front seats, heated rear seats, rear DVD system, NAV system, sunroof, OnStar, and a Bose radio with XM. Mileage on the body and interior is about 180k. The Yukon ran and drove well at the time of conversion done in spring 2020. The interior is in excellent condition for a 2011 and there are no cracks in the dash like many others out there. Equipped with 2nd row heated captains chairs.
A complete 2014 2500HD driveline including 6.6L LML Duramax engine, 6-Speed Allison transmission, HD transfer case, and 11.5" AAM HD rear axle were swapped into the Yukon XL 2500 frame. A quick breakdown of parts used during the conversion are listed below:
NEW GM radiator, intercooler, intercooler piping, coolant tank NEW GM rear calipers, rotors, brake pads NEW GM front rotors and brake pads NEW GM engine and transmission mounts Diesel instrument cluster from donor truck GMC Denali front grills and tail lights
Fuel system upgraded with over-sized fill and vent lines. This provides for quick fuel ups, not a 30 minute fuel up if the stock lines are retained. Fuel gauge reads accurately with the dual tank set up. Big plus over other conversions which exhibit fueling issues.
Upgrades: Fully deleted LML with DSP5 tuning ($1500) - switchable tune levels 1-5 with turbo brake, one being stock-ish and 5 being 600hp race tune. AirDog II 4G lift pump with filter and air separator ($700)- wired into GM fuse box AMP electronic retracting running boards ($1450) - wired into GM fuse box similar to Escalade. KING adjustable remote reservoir front shocks ($1200) - This Yukon rides like a 1500 with these shocks, they are worth the big $$$. KING piggyback reservoir rear shocks ($900) COGNITO tubular uniball upper control arms ($800) Leveled 2020 GMC HD Denali OEM wheels New Nitto Terra Grappler G2 E-rated tires - 265/60R20

I"ve seen 21 mpg highway unloaded at 70-75mph and 15-16 mpg towing a 9,000lb boat.
All fluids and filters were changed at the time of conversion. AC system (front and rear) fully charged and blows cold. Tap shift and tow/haul mode are functional. No codes or strange lights on the dash. Everything works as it should.
Exhaust brake tuned in which come on at 1800 rpm on deceleration. Very nice upgrade if towing.
Professional detail including paint buffing and ceramic coating application was completed in May 2020.
I have a set of new tow mirrors I will install at no cost to buyer if they prefer tow mirrors.
This conversion was done in March 2020 and has been logging test and shake down miles since completion. Extreme care was taken to use GM parts and complete the wiring integration in a clean, OEM like manner using OEM diagrams and connection points. A build book with replacement part numbers for the consumables will be included, so the buyer knows exactly how to perform future maintenance. Obviously this is not a slapped together build using salvage yard parts bin items. This build was completed using NEW GM parts and the best in aftermarket suspension to improve ride quality and capability. There are some very minor blemishes in the exterior and interior but overall very light wear. I can provide many many more photos upon request.
