Vehicle description
1962 Dodge D100 SHORT BOX… this is an ORIGINAL BLACK PATINA TRUCK = RARE! Originally a shop truck for a mine in Northern Minnesota… so did not see many road miles which means not much salt exposure. However, it did get its fair share of dings & dents, which only adds to the amazing patina. Most original paint / patina trucks are some off-putting color like “aqua” or “pale yellow”……… this beauty is BLACK! Body = 99% original paint with some necessary touch-ups…complete satin clear to preserve the patina and amazing pin striping. You will not find another one like this… I bought this truck ONLY for the original black paint / patina. Cab = some rust repairs were necessary in the floor /corners / mounts…………. thick plate steel was welded in and structurally this baby is stronger than original. Bed = raised floor and custom fabricated wheel arches to fit the low stance and massive rubber… fuel cell access is at the rear. Chassis = complete custom, fully boxed chassis with Independent Front Suspension, 4-Bar Link rear, Coil-Overs, Power Disc Brakes, Stainless Lines, Aluminum Fuel Cell etc…. This is a complete custom chassis from front to rear. Drivetrain = fresh 383 with upgrades hooked to a 4-speedwith Hurst shifter. Exhaust exits through the bed on the passenger side and sounds amazing. Of course, it has a big aluminum radiator too… and pwr steering w/ tilt column and a vintage Chrysler steering wheel selected to compliment the patina. Interior = new seat foam and cover, new gauges and complete front to rear wiring, sound deadening, tilt column and AC provided buy an oscillating fan and manual windows / vents. Wheel / Tires = 20” Detroit Steel Wheels with huge Diamond Back Whitewalls… perfect stance and stagger. This beast comes off as a loud, obnoxious monster… but it rolls down the highway easily with a soft ride and does not shimmy or shake. It runs cool and is extremely dependable. This truck has battle scars and is proud to show them off. Is it perfect… no. Is it amazing… YES! I have over $40K into this build… moved to Chicago and no place to park it. Please buy this beast and enjoy it… drive it everywhere……………………. AGAIN, this is an original black paint / patina D100 = RARE! !
