“This is a prime example of a completely Rust Free/ Unrestored / Survivor 1961 Dodge Polara D500. Exterior paint is not factory finish, it was painted in the late 80's/early 90's to repair scratches over the major parts of the body after being tucked away in original owners garage and used as shelving after his passing, exterior paint does have some rock chips as the car gets driven often but as you can see it still shows very well. The Underhood / Door Jams / Inner Fenders / Inner doors /Truck area / Under body are all 100% original paint as it was the day it left Dodge's Jefferson Avenue Plant in LA on July 21st 1961. Engine was rebuilt by original owner just before his passing & runs flawlessly, does not smoke, burn oil or mark its territory (oil & antifreeze changed Oct 31st) Push button automatic works well, shifts perfect & no leaks. Tires, steering, brakes etc are in great condition, just went through Motor Vehicle inspection & is good till fall 2022 I'd drive this car anywhere!” |

Vehicle description
This is a very rare (Ultra? . . almost a Mopar Unicorn!) / documented / rust free / unrestored 1961 Polara D500 built with the 383 Ram Induction engine (330 Horsepower 460 ft/lbs of torque) 1 of only 80 total production in all Polara body styles in 1961. One of 11 four door Ram Induction sedans built, and this is the last of those 11 built, coming off Dodge"s Jefferson Avenue Assembly Plant on July 21st 1961. The existence of the other 10 are unknown and this is believed to be the only remaining of the four door sedans and believed to be the only unrestored/documented Polara D500 Ram Induction in existence.
The car was sold new at Dave Schenk Dodge in Whittier California and spent the first 2 decades in Huntington Beach CA area before moving to Colorado in the early 80"s with the original owner, after the original owner passed away the car came to Canada via Toronto auction before ending up in the Moncton New Brunswick area around 2005 and found its way to us in the spring of 2011.
While in our car we did rechrome the original rear bumper, replaced some parts in the steering linkage, replaced the main wiring harness with an NOS new in box after the ammeter shorted out and melted some of the wires together, repairs could have been made but we parked the car for 16 months till I was able to source the correct new harness and have repairs made. Ammeter was replaced at the same time. Regular maintenance always done spring and fall. Some lenses/ chrome/ stainless etc was replaced over time as NOS replacements where found.
Car is currently riding on a set of 15" police pursuit wheels with Michelin radial tires and wears a set of aftermarket 1961 Polara spinner hubcaps, I do have the original non spinner 14" hubcaps that came on the car when new but unfortunately the original rims where gone before it made its way to us. If purchaser wants the correct date coded 14" wheels I have a connection in California that has a set or two and can help broker that deal.
Interior is 98% original with only the passenger side seat bottom insert having been replaced by the previous owner with the correct NOS material. Yes the dash pad is cracked and the carpet has faded but cars are only original once, and we tried to do our best to preserve the car for its next string of care takers.
Only selling to finance the next classic, we will certainly miss the car when it goes, its been very good to us over the years!
Can help arrange shipping to any where in the world, only a few hours drive to large shipping port
Please have a good look at the pictures!
