Vehicle description

2006 GTO 6.6 Liter It is with some regret that I am offering my 2006 GTO for sale. I worked as a mechanic through high school and college. In 1974 when I graduated from college I had already owned 47 vehicles. My life has been a true love affair with automobiles. For 25 years my wife and I owned and operated Performance Chevrolet Buick Pontiac GMC in Mountain Home, Idaho. During the last 12 years I also owned and operated KR Hotrods out of the same 25,000 sq ft facility. We were building 12-16 high end cars per year. Our signature car was a car that looked stock from 20 foot away but was brought up to 2010 technical standards. We hardly ever built a carburetor car. Well here I am at 65 years young and supposed to be retired. I realize that without 38 employees everything that needs to be done has to be completed by me. I simply cannot maintain and enjoy 20 vehicles. Besides what I have written above, the real remorse comes from the fact that of the 250 cars I have built in my life, I am confident that this GTO has to be the most ?perfect? vehicle. It has great manners and drivability and power beyond imagination. The Details: 26K miles, black on black, manual six speed, 18? wheels and 245/40ZR18 tires, custom drivetrain. Borla stainless exhaust (without catalytic convertors) Mike?s Racing built the motor. We used the stock aluminum block and installed a Callies forged stroker crankshaft, Oliver forged rods, Diamond (dual coated) forged pistons all kept together with ARP fasteners. The cylinder heads are from ARF and of course are aluminum. The camshaft is from Comp Cams specifically chosen by Mike?s Racing and his Comp Cams rep for this motor knowing that we were going to Super charge her. The super charger is a Magnuson TVS 2300 running 12 PSI of boost. The flywheel is aluminum backed by a McLoed?s dual disc street clutch rated at 1,000 HP. The driveshaft has been replaced with a billet aluminum 3 ½? shaft. The sub-frame has been beefed up with weld on sub-frame connectors by BMR. Speaking of BMR here is the list of additional parts from them installed on this GTO: aluminum skid guard, Harrop differential cover with mount, Harrop polyurethane cradle bushing kit, Drag Bags, Koni adjustable rear shocks, 300M axle shaft with billet CV joints, HD radious rod-rear, Harrop differential cover adaptor, driveshaft safety loop. To monitor this beast I installed SCSS Gator Pod with Auto Meter mechanical Oil Pressure and Water Temp gauges. On the pillar are the Auto Meter pyrometer and boost/vacuum gauges. After driving this GTO for a little bit I realized that if you are getting on the throttle you are very busy and don?t have time to monitor the tach. I had to install and MSD pencil shift light which is set for 7,100 rpm. We also had to move the coils when installing the super charger and installed Katech custom valve covers, coil bracket set and wire-coil relocation kit. Spark is handled by MSD 8mm wire set. Because Magnuson reprograms the stock ECM all factory devices and gauges work in unison with the added gauges and motor work performed. The only exception to this is the fact that the catalytic convertors have been removed from the vehicle and the resonators (mufflers) that reside in the very back of the car are also removed. Exhaust is routed out the back in the stock location running 3? from the ceramic coated headers to the exhaust tips. Both the convertors and the resonators can be re-installed by any competent exhaust shop. Dyno time should be considered if you choose to do this. Here is what you have been waiting for! 788 HP on 91 octane pump gas dyno?d at 2,680 feet above sea level (Boise, Idaho). The most outstanding number on this GTO is that at 3,800 rpm she has 612 lbs ft of torque at the rear wheels. This equates to ripping the tires loose almost in any gear at any speed. 80 mph in six gear is exactly 2,000 rpm. If you row her into fourth and jump on the throttle (never pin the throttle unless you have a death wish) she will roast the tires. The interior is perfect with no modifications except those listed ie: gauges, shift light. It runs cool and starts and drives like a stock vehicle. It is honestly very quiet inside the vehicle. The exterior has several small rock chips on the leading edge of the hood that have been professionally touched up. No chips in any of the glass. Side windows and back window have been professionally tinted. There has never been any other body or paint work performed on this GTO. Race her, show her and enjoy her. This car was built by professionals using the very best parts available. I have dyno?d her twice to get her perfect. In 10 years it has never set a check engine light or code. No disappointments!
