Vehicle description
1989 S10 Blazer [isdntekvid https:/ www.youtube.com/watch?v=JVFnX9GswEo
Originally my dads vehicle he bought used in 1996 before he sold it to his brother who was responsible for the custom paint, decals, body work, wheels, all new windows minus the rear gate, tinting and sound system among other upgrades. After almost 18 years of being garage kept as a Sunday driver with regular maintenance my uncle offered it to me in the summer of 2014. It served me well for a few years as my primary vehicle although I didn"t drive much since I traveled for work and took ride share for local trips. I bought a new vehicle the summer of 2018 and the Blazer has been my much loved garage kept Sunday driver since then but it"s time to make space for something new.
This model was the higher trim package available, so it has automatic transmission, cruise control, and power windows.
Since it"s been in my possession I"ve replaced the radiator, exhaust(nothing obnoxious sounding), tires, starter and some corresponding electrical wires, spark plugs, battery, front grill, rear gate hydraulic arms, and the passenger exterior door handle(I have the driver side I will included it just wasn"t in need of replacement yet). I also added the subwoofer and amp to the sound system (JL-10w6) and upgraded the HU.
-Wheels are Cragar SS chrome plated but they are flaking in some places as seen in the photos.
-Tint is very dark, almost limo grade.
-Rear view mirror is non-existent but with the blind spot mirrors and good visibility I"ve never felt I needed one.
Exterior is in good shape minus some chips in the paint and some scuffs on the front driver side bumper (more on that below). No dents or notable scratches.
-there is rust showing on the chrome rims as mentioned above
-exhaust tip (replaced in 2015) is showing rust spots
-pin striping is missing on one side because I couldn"t find a matching replacement and never got around to removing the rest of it
-trailer hitch wiring hookup works
Interior is also pretty good considering the age but there are some carpet stains as shown in the photos, primarily in the cargo space and rear seat back. The seats themselves do not have any notable stains, tears, or holes.
-the buttons for the power locks are missing
-AC works and blows cold!
Mechanically, the engine is the original (4.3L V6) and still runs like a gem. I"m sure it will need something, but I haven"t had any serious issues over the years to report.
The Carfax is clean and I have the report available, there have been no major accidents or mechanical issues. However, in 2015 someone clipped the driver-side front bumper(and ran) while it was parked outside my house, leading to the scuffs on the bumpers trim. The body shop couldn"t find a replacement bumper so it was left as is. They assured me there was no further damage.
All things considering, this has been a great vehicle for my family and I. It"s fun to drive and gets quite a bit of attention from onlookers. I hope I covered everything and I"m happy to answer any questions.
