Vehicle description
I purchased this vehicle in April 2010 with 24,572 miles displaying on the odometer from Best Wheels Imports, Johnston, RI. Actually, the dealer was acting on behalf of his friend, the second owner, who decided after ten months of ownership that the car did not meet his needs. He, in turn, previously purchased the vehicle as a Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle from BMW Gallery in Norwood, MA in 2009 following expiration of the vehicle"s initial three year lease.
This Z is painted Titanium Silver Metallic - a $475 option in 2006 - and equipped with black, heated leather seats ($500), Premium Package ($2400), Sport Package ($1200) and Xenon headlights ($700). Further detail regarding these items is available per the original Window Sticker accompanying the sale.
During my 11 year ownership, the vehicle has been driven sparingly (less than 40K miles) and never during New England"s winter months. When not in use during November - March, the vehicle has always been garaged and protected with a Covercraft custom car cover that will accompany sale of the car.
Notable modifications include an ADE cold air intake unit, spoiler, front and rear brake caliper covers, "Z4" floor mats, tinted (charcoal) rear tail lights and brake light, BMW mud flaps (F/R), black kidney-shaped front grills and a smoke-tinted Windblox wind screen, the later being far superior to the stock nylon mesh wind screen. Both the original silver front grills and wind screen will accompany sale of the car, too.
Presently, the vehicle is equipped with Michelin 225/40R18 Pilot Sport tires in the front and 255/35R18 Michelin Pilot Sport tires in the rear. When they were mounted to replace the original "run flat" tires, the vehicle was displaying 44,996 miles on the odometer.
The overall condition of the body is excellent with near negligible blemishes and absolutely no rust, dings or dents. Light scratches and abrasions do appear, however, on the bottom corner of the passenger-side lower valance and the driver"s side rear alloy wheel exhibits some slight curb rash. The remaining three wheels show well notwithstanding some minor deterioration. The interior is clean and the seats show minimal wear with no rips or tears. The remote convertible top operates flawlessly. Despite being a relatively small car, the trunk is good size and I am always amazed by what I can pack into it!
Reliability has never been an issue with this car. There has only been one recall - a Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) valve heater - and that problem was remedied in September 2021 by Girard BMW, New London, CT. Everything works, and at 265 horse power, it"s a fun car to drive with the top down!
