Vehicle description
Before I give all the details on this Silverado please be aware this truck is currently NOT RUNNING (fuel not getting to engine- see details below) So this will need to be towed or trailered from where it sits in our driveway.
THIS IS A 4X2 SILVERADO. THIS IS NOT 4 WHEEL DRIVE.
To begin I would like to give you the history of this truck and then a break down of the current condition and repairs that have been made while I have owned it.I purchased this in 2007 from a guy in Massachussettes here on ebay. He had put about $2500 into the truck and he had purchased it from a construction company 6 months prior to selling it to me ( I guess his wife wanted a minivan and didnt like driving the truck is what I was told) From 2007 to now this truck has never seen a winter road and was either stored inside or covered with a truck cover from October to April each year. I had always dreamed of having this model truck and when I bought it never thought I would be selling it and its been a very difficult decision to now be listing it now on ebay. But with 2020 as crazy as it is circumstances have caused me to pass this beauty along. So why am I selling it?
Last Summer I was driving my kids to a friends house and went back out to start up the truck and it wouldnt start. I had it towed back to our house and figured it must be the fuel pump. so I dropped the tank replaced the fuel pump/ filter and Pump relay. Truck started right up (Yay!) but I noticed that occasionally when I turned on the key there would be a buzzing coming from the dash and when it buzzed it wouldnt start so I would turn the key off and back on and if it didnt buzz the truck would start up fine. Was like this for about two months. The truck sat unused for about 2 weeks and I went to move it to change out the rear brake shoes and again would not start and had no buzzing noise as it had previously. I purchased another Relay thinking maybe that was what was buzzing and installed it but still no luck. So I covered it up for the winter and figured I would worry about it this year. As Im sure everyone knows 2020 brought many challenges especially financially. When I took the cover off this spring I noticed that the paint clear coat was peeling on the roof and hood ( not sure why but something loosened it up over the winter) and then I realized that I just dont have the money or time to keep this truck looking good and running properly. Ive done my best to keep it maintained and looking good and its just time to pass it on to someone else who loves these trucks and has more knowledge and abilities to keep it running and beautiful for many years to come.
With that said here is to the best of my knowledge the current condition of the truck.Engine 4.3 L V6 with 251859 original miles and still runs beautiful (when it gets gas)Work thats been done on engine since I have owned it. Back in 2011 or so the Intake Manifold Gasket sprung a leak. Put on new gaskets and a reconditioned Intake Manifold and some new vacuum hoses that needed replacement and a new water Inlet Connector on the Intake Manifold. I also believe I replaced the thermostat at that time as well.In the last 7 years the serpentine belt was also replaced. About 3 years ago replaced the battery and alternator. 2 years ago replaced the spark plugs. Spark plug cables and Distributor Cap about 10 years ago. This morning (in a final hope to fix the gas issue) I found and replaced a broken engine ground cable and a pcv valve elbow. (still didnt fix the issue :( )
Electrical: Lights all around are working. Headlights and Front marker lights are aftermarket and I installed them a few years after purchasing the truck. Horn works fine. (not sure if gas issue is electrical)
Body: For being a 26 year old truck the body is in pretty decent shape. The paint does have alot of scratches and dings (cant be seen in the photos but they are there) and as I mentioned some of the clear coat is now coming off the roof and hood. Some rust spots on edge of hood. Passenger side rocker panels starting to blister out and rusting underneath. Dent in rear passenger side panel behind rear tire. Frame is Solid and has surface rust as you would expect for a truck this old. Bumper chrome still nice and shiny. Bed cover about 3 years old and still in good shape. Bed liner just needs to be cleaned. I usually spray it out each year but since I cant move the truck there is still some dirt left for the new owner ( no extra charge :) )
Electronics: Installed a Blutooth CD Player Deck a couple of years ago. Works great and has a remote and microphone is on dash. Speakers in truck all function except for the drivers side one is missing and so is the grill. I had begun a project to replace the speakers and thought I could customize the grill to fit the speakers I had bought and yea didnt work. The speaker on that side never worked when I bought the truck. Interior lights all work.
Heater/ AC. AC unit is missing under the hood and therefore does not have AC. Heater is currently not reliable. From the time I purchased it the heater had a mind of its own and sometimes would work and sometimes would not. Since I didnt drive it in the winter I didnt worry about getting it fixed. Also a couple of years ago it started making a clicking noise for about 10 seconds when you start the truck from the blower motor. I believe its a outside air vent trying to open but must be stuck or something.Tires: Still like new. I dont think I had them on for more than 5000-7000 miles before it stopped running. All tires are the same and match. Spare tire under truck looks like new but I have never used it so I dont know how good it actually is. But its there.
Exhaust: Muffler and tail pipe are only a couple years old. Tail pipe I noticed is loose and will just need to have the bracket tightened.Windshield: is about 2 years old. Had a rock shot at me and cracked it back in 2018 and was replaced.
Interior. For the most part pretty clean but the seats could use a cleaning. Front part of headliner is loose from ceiling. (Had hoped one day to replace it) Passenger side sun visor is missing.
Doors: Driver side door latch needs attention. It shuts but sometimes takes a couple of tries. Passenger side closes properly.Keys: Believe it or not we acually have the original 2 sets of keys!
Brakes: As mentioned the rear shoes need to be replaced. I never ended up replacing them since the truck wouldnt start.Transmission: I dont know for sure but I think the transmission is original. This is something that will probably need attention at some point. I have noticed in the last couple of years that when going between 50mph - 60mph it will randomly start to shutter and when i let off on the gas and press on the gas again it goes away. So could be the transmission is slipping. I have always been gentle with the truck. I am not the type to do burnouts or abuse my vehicles. So im sure it will continue to last a while if you are careful with it.Other things that have been replaced: Drivers side from wheel bearing (2008 or so) Front shocks about 4 or 5 years ago with the sway links. Gas lines were replaced by the guy who owned it before me so they are still in good shape.
I believe I have given all the details I can think of. I want you to know im not trying to sell anyone junk. Like I said this truck has been with me a long while and I hate to see it go. Its been our camping truck, cruising around getting all kinds of compliments truck :), and pulled my lawn mower around to help folks out with their lawns. I am hopeful that it will go to a great new home and continue to be a nice truck for the new owner. And if you have any questions please ask. .Also we will not take requests to change the purchase price on the bill of sale. We are honest in our dealings and bill of sale will reflect your final bid.
Again this truck will need to be towed or trailered and the battery may not be charged enough to run the hazards to wherever you are going.
Pickup: Any day other than Saturday. If you give me a weeks notice I can take off work and meet any day and time other than Saturday.Payment. If paying by check we will need to wait for check to clear at our bank before signing over title of vehicle.
You the buyer must be present when picking up the vehicle. We have a form that you will need to sign before the truck can be taken. We will not hand the truck over to a towing company.
