Up for sale is a body/pan matching numbers 100% rust free 1966 bug. 1600 DP
THE GOOD: CLEAN CA TITLE IN HAND. Uncut dash, OG radio (not currently operational, just needs to be hooked up)OG spare tire, body tag intact and vin matches vin stamp on the tunnel, correct 66 slotted wheels, speedo works, gas gauge works. Engine was recently pulled and gone through, replaced all top-end gaskets and seals. NEW front and rear engine tin rubber seals, NEW clutch, NEW throwout arm and throwout bearing, NEW 12v flywheel, NEW trans mounts and nose cone, NEW 12v starter, NEW 165/80 15 tires with less than 100 miles on them, NEW pans and channels (there is ZERO rust on this car). Shifts smoothly through all the gears and drives straight down the road, and the horn works!
THE BAD: Motor leaks a little oil from pushrod tubes but what VW doesn"t leak some oil! The paint isn"t perfect by any means, it"s a 10 foot job with some runs and some dry spots but i"m sure it would buff really really nicely. Along the lines of paint, the previous owner started a paint stripping project to try and uncover the OG paint (bahama blue) which is evident on the rear drivers fender and on the dashboard. Windshield is chipped, headliner has been ripped out, most of the carpet has been torn out, seat covers have seen better days.
HOWEVER, INCLUDED with the sale will be a NEW off-white vinyl headliner WITH the proper padding kit and headliner bows, NEW black loop carpet kit, NEW door panels front and rear, NEW windshield and NEW window seals for all stationary windows with the proper chrome strips. All you need in order to complete the interior is seat covers.
