Vehicle description
For sale, a 2001 Eldorado convertible by Coachbuilders. One of a few thousand Eldorado’s approved as factory conversions by Cadillac and built by Coachbuilders. Their rarity, and distinct stylishness, makes them stand out in a crowd. This one is approximately 100 with hard-boot. With its White Diamond Tri-Coat paint option makes a special car even more special.
Factory original white diamond paint looks nearly new. It’s a 19-year-old classic with no door dings, scratches, stone chips, rust-free, and is an accident-free car.
It still has its original white convertible top. The headliner is good shape with no rips or major stains. The rear glass window is, and trim is excellent.
Its Shale leather seats are in great shape with no imperfections, tears, or marks. Comfortable leather bucket seats. The interior has a Zebrano wood trim surround. Carpets great. The dashboard is perfect—New Cadillac floor mats.
Potent 4.6 Liter, V-8 NorthStar engine, has 68K FWD four-speed overdrive offers excellent performance. New battery and radiator. Newer Vogue tires and chrome Vogue rims in good condition.
Loaded with options including ice-cold air conditioning, cruise, anti-theft system, tilt, power seats, door locks, brakes, power windows, Bose radio, cassette player. A host of pre-set preferences for two drivers, including seat positions, radio station preferences, and outside power mirror settings. MSRP was over $70K.
Planning on keeping the car. I did considerable maintenance replacing all filters, changed all fluids including, coolant, power steering, transmission fluid - tire rotation – replaced squeaking pully belt, gaskets, sensors, axles oil, new hose, belts. $1,500
I’ve replaced both convertible top cylinders (one cylinder had a small leak) that raises/lowers the top. With original hydraulic top cylinders from Coachbuilders/Drop Top Customs. Cost $1,299.
The car has three known issues. I would fix it if keeping the car. Its original white vinyl convertible top on the passenger side has a 3-inch rip. (See photo) which I caused while putting the top down, not paying attention, I forgot to close latches and did not make sure the top closed correctly.
Fortunately, tops rear glass window and headlined are in good shape and don’t need to be replaced. The cost to replace the top is approximately $1000. Rear windows automatically go down when lowering the top. The driver side rear window won’t completely raise and works intermittently. Check traction light is on. It doesn’t affect driving it, and I had no plans of fixing it.
Other than these issues. Everything else works as it should, no surprises. This car runs and drives 100 percent! It is a well-cared-for accident-free laser straight car. Driven less than 3500 miles a year, it rides and performs fantastically! It needs needs nothing to be a daily driver beach car.
However, if you want a unique, head-turning classic. A new top and fixing the rear power window will make it one. The cost to do the needed repairs is approximately $1500. Which I’ve taken into account and reflected it in my reserve price. Florida title in hand - will assist with shipping.
If you’re in the market for a classic twelfth generation Coachbuilders Cadillac Eldorado convertible. It’s unlikely you’ll find a more reasonable priced, better preforming, lower mileage classic. If you’d like additional photos let me know. Please feel free to ask any questions
