Up for your consideration is this 2001 BMW X5 4.4i. It needs transmission work. It runs really well and drives fine for the first 5 minutes but goes into TRANS FAIL SAFE PROGRAM after it warms up. If I shut it off and let it cool down it"s good again for 5 minutes and then goes back into TRANS FAIL SAFE PROGRAM. For this reason it is being sold AS-IS and not working. I have not had it diagnosed and I have no idea what is wrong with it. . it could be minor or it could be major. You are welcome to have your mechanic inspect it. Other than that it"s a really nice car. . pretty clean inside and out. Fix the trans and it should be an excellent car. There is no history of accidents on this car. This is a 2 family - 3 owner car. I have owned the car for about 5 years. . my brother owned it for quite a few years (at least 10) before that. He bought it as a certified used car early in it"s life. I"d say I put about 10,000 miles on it in the time that I"ve owned it. It"s a very enjoyable car. . such a pleasure to drive. The odometer shows about 190,000 miles. I replaced the rear airbag suspension about 2 years ago. I also replaced the alternator and battery about 3 years ago. It needs a spare tire. . the rim/wheel is there but the spare tire is bad.
