This is a classic 1965 VW camper van. I have owned this bus since 2009 and had much mechanical work performed. The motor and transmission were professionally rebuilt in Texas around 2010. The brakes were upgraded to a dual circuit system. All lights, turn indicators , wipers work. This bus was decorated as an art car and featured in the Houston Art Car Parade for several years. The interior is a mix of original VW cabinets and two cabinets I built myself. One cabinet hides a little refrigerator that runs on shore power. The second cabinet houses a small sink and 5 gallon water tank. There is also a very nice pantry I built on one door with a little fold down work area. The front seats are out of an old T-Bird. They need to re-upholstered but they are very comfortable.To say this bus is infused with good juju is a gross understatement. I’ve driven this little bus from Houston to California 3 times and from Houston to Maine twice. The vehicle had rust in all the usual places and certainly should be repaired but it is very Road worthy and an excellent candidate for a full restore. There is a small dent in one of the barn doors, cracked/broken glass on some of the windows, and the interior wooden headliner is starting to deteriorate and should be replace. This bus is not perfect, or restored completely, it is however totally road worthy and I would deliver it happily anywhere in the continental US for $1.00/mile.I have more pictures.
