NO RESERVE! BARN FIND! RARE 1968 Rebel SST Factory 343, 4 barrel, 4 speed convertible! This is a project but nicely equipped, well worth doing (IMO) and is pretty much all there. This is the last year of the AMC convertible in any body style (Ambassador and American ended in 67). . Awesome and desirable color combo being Caravelle blue with a black interior. .Still retains most of all of its original components (date coded items such as carb, radiator, valve cover tag etc). .Motor turns over free but I have not tried to start it. .Complete smog system still intact believe it or not. .According to my research AMC made 1,200 Rebel convertibles in 1968, 377 of which were 550 models and 823 of which were SSTs. .343 SSTs I believe 294 with probably a dozen or two at best that were 4 speed manuals in my guestimate. .It is no doubt very rare and I searched for a long time to find this one!. . I purchased this from a family friend of the original owner in PA and has the typical rusty floors and body panels but it hasnt been all patched up or really messed with to date or from what I tell. .I am including another shell (stripped but has some nice metal and a spare top and mechanism but not much of anything else) of a 67 Rebel convertible (both cars have clean titles). .Please note the Rebel machine and cragar wheels in pictures are not included in sale,. .I will put on a roller set of plain steel wheels or slotted mags on it for pick-up/transport. . Car is currently in dry storage and will be accessible for pick up within the next few weeks or so (weather dependent and other storage items being picked up that are in front of both cars) Feel free to email or text any questions you have but I truly prefer and think it is best to call me between 9am-9pm EST time. I never planned on selling this one (I have owned hundreds of AMCs and always wanted a factory 4 speed V8 convertible) but never having enough time to dedicate to it I am listing for sale. .I have put a reasonable reserve and would like to sell. .I also have a tremendous amount of engines, transmissions, NOS and excellent used parts that are NOT included with this auction, many were collected for this car and many of which will be listed after the car sells (Fresh 70 Indy 390 w/500-550 hp, NEW Tremec TKO600 5 speed, Built 360 with upgraded/stout T5, other 343s, 360s, 390s, 401s, 4 speeds etc etc,.
