I will consider all offers. I would like to sell this car before snow comes.
Details about the car: This car is reliable and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. I drove it from New Hampshire to Longueuil, Quebec a few weeks ago with no problems. It was really a pleasure to drive.
This is a very solid all original Studebaker Champion. This car was originally from Pennsylvania (mining town) and was then owned by someone in Deerfield, MA. The car was owned and maintained carefully through its life, never driven in snow. The frame and body of this car are near perfect. There is a tiny spot of corrosion underneath one of the rocker panels, but the car is effectively rust free. A lot of the paint was peeling so I sanded the surface rust and sprayed the bare metal with flat black paint/primer. There is no body filler or any type of restoration done to this car.
The brake shoes, brake hoses, brake master cylinder, tires, fuel pump and voltage regulator are new. The oil in the engine, transmission and over drive unit were changed regularly and are also recently changed.
The passengers side rear door does not open. I do not know why and have not taken time to explore. The weather stripping around the doors and windows is leaking a little bit. The gas gauge does not work. The hard lines (fuel and brake) are in good shape. A blinker switch physically exists, but does not seem to function. Oil pressure gauge and water temperature gauge do work.
There is play in the steering because of looseness in pitman arm bushings. The actual steering joints (draglinks, tie rods, etc.) appear to be solid with no looseness. I inspected the front end of the car carefully prior to driving and personally feel safe driving it. There is no vibration or shaking at speeds up to around 75mph.
If you are a Studebaker fan or just looking for something old and classy to mod, this is a very solid template that will not disappoint.
This car has a 2.7L straight 6 with a reliable 3spd manual transmission with overdrive. It is a column shift and the linkage and shift mechanism work perfectly.
This car is being sold as is with no warranty or guarantee of any type. I am disclosing all knowledge I have of this vehicle to the best of my ability. If you have any questions, PLEASE ask before bidding or buying it now.
