Vehicle description
1967 AC Cobra Manufactured by Johnex Motorsports in Onterio Canada. This is a very High quality reproduction. All exterior details are very correct, including dimensions, this is not some stretched and widened caricature of what a cobra might look like, this is extremely true to the originals. Under the skin this is pure race car construction. This car is very well mannered near its limits, however requires an expert hand to approach them. I encourage all potential buyers to view this car in person. Specifications: Equiptment: Tremec 5speed Tilton Triple master cylinder setup Compmotive three piece Halibrand style wheels 295 50 16 rear tires 245 50 16 front tires. Remote oil filter Front mounted oil cooler Aluminum radiator with welded tanks The triangulated steel tube frame is unequalled in strength and construction within the replica industry. Frame made by: CSC Racing Products Inc."s relationship with COBRA cars began over three decades ago with the design of a tubular chassis for the 427 Cobra replica, and CSC continues to advance the engineering of previously developed products. The chassis includes: Modified space frame constructed of both tubular and rectangular steel more rigid three-dimensional "space frame" or "modified space frame". The frame/suspension (the "chassis") on the Johnex car is designed as an integrated unit (by CSC racing in Canada). The Johnex is designed from the ground-up to be a race-ready, rigid system designed to handle the requirements of high-horsepower racing cobras. the cockpit area uses a steel for the floor and the rear of the cockpit, Welded Sheet metal floors Welded Sheet metal bulkhead. The car was built as a a turn key from Johnex Motorsports in Brampton, Ontario. Not only does it have an outstanding modified space frame constructed of both tubular and rectangular steel, it also was well engineered and of excellent quality in all other areas, from interior to fiberglass. Plus, the frame/suspension (the "chassis") on the Johnex car is designed as an integrated unit (by CSC racing in Canada). Rather than a collection of Mustang parts adapted to ladder frame, the chassis on the Johnex is designed from the ground-up to be a race-ready, rigid system designed to handle the requirements of high-horsepower racing cobras. I also liked the fact that the cockpit area uses a steel for the floor and the rear of the cockpit, unlike a simple fiberglass "tub" that is used on so many other cobras. Also, to make the car more serviceable, the transmission tunnel is completely removable. The car itself features 4-wheel disc brakes, 17 gallon fuel tank (surrounded by the frame, for safety), 16" Compomotive replica wheels, frame-mounted chrome roll bar, powder-coated frame with tubular front suspension, "Pro" adjustable coil-overs at all 4 corners Ceramic coated sidepipes and headers, custom Aluminum 4-core radiator, Goodrich radials, upgraded interior with, windshield wipers, wind wings. Shifting is through a Tremec "TKO" 5-speed gear box. Paint for the car was done using Glasurit base-coat/clearcoat products. The car is beautifully detailed " weather-proof automotive connectors at all the lights, weather stripping on the hood, and trunk, rear-mounted battery, carpeted and finished trunk area, heat reflective material used extensively, aluminum firewall, braided steel lines, etc. The interior is extremely well done and the seats are very comfortable. Driving the car is a joy, and provides a surprisingly smooth ride. This car is more than the sum if parts. It is a very well engineered road race car that happens to be shaped like a Shelby cobra. Titled as replica, title shows year: 1967.
