Brief overview
We are the second owners, and have carefully maintained it for 10 years. The original owner passed along all the original documentation and service history since he purchased it new - including the window sticker. This Jeep was my wife"s daily driver until she retired two years ago. In the past two years it’s been driven only about 2,000 miles, so it’s time to let it go. We have the clean CA title, current registration, and smog certificate in hand. The chassis is immaculate; never bouldered or mudded. It has 166,000 documented miles. We just drove it from La Mesa to San Clemente and back (120 miles) this week. No problems, everything works; not a leaker or an over-heater. Fly and drive. Exterior Original Forest Green paint, no dents, rust or body damage. Paint on hood is thin and clear coat is peeling on the top edge of the hood near cowl (see photos). The driver side door and quarter were re-painted due to a fender bender in approx. 2003; we have the body shop receipt from previous owner. Bumpers are straight and still have the plastic trim caps on the ends. Doors, windows, and tailgate operate smoothly; shocks on rear hatch are good. It has heavy-duty aftermarket running boards and a bike rack receiver hitch on the back. Hard top can be removed by two people. No soft top included. Interior Interior is original and looks sharp. Original upholstery is in excellent condition, no cracks on dash, carpet is good, door panels are nice, no cracks or broken plastic. All gauges work properly, all accessory, and dome lights work, A/C blows cold, aftermarket Pioneer CD player has Bluetooth and accessory jack. Engine & Drive train The 4.0 6-cyl engine pulls strong and smooth. It just passed its smog test (see photo). I changed the oil last week @ 165,890 miles. Previous oil changes: 164,355; 160,710; 157,121; 155,754 The oil pan gasket and rear main seal have been replaced The clutch has also been replaced Suspension is un-modified and it drives straight and smooth A/C has been upgraded to R134. K&N air filter Cooling system is excellent. Radiator and water pump, thermostat and hoses are newer I just found a dirt road and tested the transfer case. It has only been in 4WD twice since we’ve owned it. Brakes are good, tires are Bridgstone and have 18,000 miles. Battery was replaced last month. It has some aftermarket armor installed on the undercarriage when the Jeep was new to protect the oil pan and gas tank. There is no damage to the undercarriage. It is super clean and California dry; no rust haze, no undercoating. Look at the chassis photos. It looks like an old ladies low mileage Camry under there! Other There are two very small chips in the windshield (not in line of sight) The shocks are old and should be replaced The rear windshield wiper is not hooked up The rear differential has always been a little noisy even though it’s been replaced twice The plastic wheel center caps are included but have broken tabs
The steering wheel is in great shape. I just took off the fabric cover (in photos) that was protecting it.
