I am sure there are other trucks out here like this one, but finding them in this condition is becoming harder and harder to do. The truck market is one of the hottest segments of our classic car world now and low mileage, original paint examples like this are really coming on strong. These OBS trucks are really starting to take off and this is a prime example of the quintessential grandpa truck which was purchased new in Concord, NC and stayed there all its life. Meticulously maintained by the original owner, garage kept, waxed and really really lovingly cared for its entire life. If you are a fan of these trucks then take a look at this one. It has lived there all its life. The original owner passed away and the truck was given to his granddaughter, who I purchased it from this year. It is the Silverado addition and came equipped with the 5.7 liter engine, 700r4 overdrive transmission, power windows, power locks, air conditioning. The truck currently has 93,800 miles. It runs and drives just like the day it was purchased new in 89. It is truly a pleasure to drive, no squeaks, rattles or shakes. It really is like driving a time capsule taking you back to 1989. It is very original. Under the hood you will find all the original decals, and the engine compartment is clean enough to eat off of. BODY AND PAINT The truck still wears almost all of its original Garnet Red paint and it is as close to perfect as you are going to find. It has never been in an accident nor is there or ever has been any rust or rust repair. The chassis is clean and rust free. The hood has been painted, I know this because I painted it myself. It is a perfect paint match and if I did not make you aware of this fact you would not know it. The body is straight and free of dings or dents. There are a few miscellaneous chips here and there but they are at a minimum. The paint really is stunning and it testifies to the garage kept life it has lived. I will say the roof still maintains its shine but upon close inspection it is starting to haze slightly, but it still looks good as you will see in the pictures. All of the trim is original and in fabulous shape. The moldings are very nice, the chrome bumpers are original and still have a great luster and the grill chrome is in great shape. It really is impressive. INTERIOR The interior is just as impressive as the rest of the truck. It is clean as a pin on the inside and all completely original with exception of a CD player that was added at some point. The seat is free of any imperfections, the carpet is nice and it still retains its original floor mats, which are sometimes lost, damaged or replaced. The headliner is original and free of any sags or imperfections. It is obviously a non smoker vehicle. The windows have been tinted in a light tint. Everything works as it should. ENGINE AND DRIVETRAIN This truck performs flawlessly. It is equipped with the desirable 5.7 liter 350 cubic inch engine. The 700r4 automatic shifts and performs perfectly. There is no smoke, leaks or anything that needs to be done to the drivetrain at all. It really runs like the day it was purchased new. Saying it is clean under the hood is an understatement. I dare you to find one cleaner. The exhaust has received a flowmaster muffler and it really sounds nice. Not loud or droney just a nice deep tone. The tires are ¾ tread or better and a 255/60/15 in size and the wheels are the originals. SUMMARY Overall this is one of the best examples of this era truck. It is ready to be enjoyed and lovingly cared for by its new owner. It is ready to drive and enjoy and you could feel comfortable driving it home to where ever you live.
