Vehicle description
This 1993 Wrangler was purchased in 2003 from a fellow from Colorado who used it primarily as a weekend toy. I acquired it in Jacksonville after he moved east. It has been my daily driver since 2003. It has had many modifications including the removal of the 4.0L inline 6 and replaced with a 4.7 L stroker motor. This engine is immensely powerful with ridiculous torque. I kept the original 4.0L engine which only has 4,000-ish miles on it and is included in this package. The vehicle also has a newly rebuilt (by Jasper Transmissions) Aisin AX-15 5 speed transmission. There is an additional AX-15 transmission that only has 10,000 miles on it included.
IMPORTANT -
The mileage in this listing is complicated. The chassis, body, suspension etc all have around 120,000 miles. The engine and transmission all have less than 1,000. The transfer case has less than 30,000. The spare motor, transmission and transfer case all have mileages noted below.
The Good -
Vehicle runs strong and has fantastic power, torque, sound and general function. Like I said, its been my daily driver for nearly 2 decades. I hasve been planning to do a complete cosmetic restoration, but unfortunately I have too many projects on deck and this one has to go. This will make someone a brilliant daily driver/toy project. It includes ALL of the following:
• The Jeep itself which runs great and does not leak oil • Working Warn 8,000 lb winch • Brand new custom stainless exhaust system including Borla stainless headers. • Home-made snorkel • Spare 4.0L inline 6 engine with roughly 4,000 miles on it (see pics) • Spare Aisin AX-15 5 speed transmission with roughly 10,000 miles on it. Worked great the day it was pulled (see pics) • Spare stock transfer case in perfect working order. Has about 35,000 miles on it (see pics) • Spare complete front and rear axles - Dana 30 & 35 (see pics) • Spare steering rack (see pics) • Misc spare parts include - working ECM, throttle body, throttle position sensor, intake manifold, 26 gallon expedition fuel tank, reservoir bottles for coolant and windshield fluids, fuel rail, injectors, headlights, serpentine belts, hoses, clutch reservoir, brake reservoir, numerous body and suspension lift parts, various small fasteners and other general parts, Chilton and Haynes manuals.
Aside from the spare axles and steering rack, all parts have been stored inside my shop, organized and ready for use.
The Bad -
The vehicle badly needs a cosmetic overhaul. The only rust is on the lower windshield trim and some surface speckles from road gravel on the front fenders (see pics). The Top, seats and interior are all accounted for and functional, but show the expected levels of wear and fade for a vehicle of this age and type. The Jeep is equipped with 35" BF Goodrich Radial TA All-Terrain Tires, including a spare. These ties are over 12 years old, have signs of dry rot and should not be trusted for highway use. The front driver"s side tire has a slow leak that I believe is in the Schrader valve and not the tire. When the stroker motor was installed, we also did an aluminum diamond plate dash with new gauges. All gauges show signs of life but do not read accurately. I believe that this is an ODB1 vehicle vs ODB2 gauge issue and can be corrected by adapters, calibration or replacement. I have the original stock gauges and they are included. The snorkel is home made. It works but it is not pretty. Never got around to installing a proper one. It has never affected vehicle performance or trailworthiness in its 17-year service life.
The Opportunity -
This vehicle is in running condition and has a clean title. This is a toy project you can actually drive immediately while you are planning its future upgrades/fixes. The sheer volume of spare parts is significant and means that you can do bench upgrades or sell spares to recover money. Your call. I am heartbroken that I am forced to part with it, but I am hoping someone will see the opportunity and give it a new home and a new life.
The Details -
Local pick-up only. In fact, I encourage you to see it to appreciate it
This project is being sold in its entirety. . all or nothing. I WILL NOT SELL INDIVIDUAL PARTS SO PLEASE DO NOT ASK. I WILL NOT REPLY TO ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT PARTING IT OUT.
Vehicle will be released only upon confirmed receipt of funds - Cash or certified check or money order.
I am thrilled to answer any and all questions about its history, quirks, drive-ability etc. Please satisfy all of your answers before bidding.
As with any highly modified older vehicle, there is no warranty expressed or implied and the vehicle is being sold AS-IS. Sale is final.
Vehicle is fully insured, as I am currently driving it, and has a clean title.
I reserve the right to end this auction before completion if the reserve has not been met as the vehicle is for sale locally.
I will provide my contact phone number upon request if your wish to discuss via voice rather than email.
