Vehicle description
I am going to be brutally honest about this car. I am the worst salesman when it comes to selling my cars. When I got it about 2 years ago it was a good car but needed some detailing. It was showing its 50 year age. Even then it always got a lot of attention. I will grade on a 1 to 10 scale (10 being factory showroom new and 1 being a worthless piece of crap) Interior is now 8 or 9. Most of the interior has been replaced with good quality OER parts Body is 8 or 9 . It is good solid car with solid body panels and doors. From what I can tell it was a California and Arizona Car. I have included a few pictures of the pre paint car. I think the bumpers are original but need redone. I replaced the Hood with the steel cowl version. The fit is not great. It needs new hood hinges. The doors are very solid. They closed perfect before I replaced the rubber door seals now they need to be closed a bit harder until the seals relax a bit. The paint job just turned out okay. I am a tough critic on this. I cannot paint but I can tell when I see a good job. (It is About 6+) It has some gloss but also has some rough areas that need wet sanded an buffed out. The guy that painted it did some and he went through in a couple of places. He stopped and said that was all he is doing for the $6,000 that I paid + materials .He did a good job on the color changeover. It was originally Citrus Green YUK! He did good on the underside of the hood, trunk , doors etc. I have some of the left over paint for touch up. The color is "Burn Out Gray" Okay, so I liked the name . The drivetrain is a 9. It runs great! Light throttle shifts bark the tires. The grandkids, great grandkids and neighbor kids think that is great. I like it too! This 70 Nova has a built 400 4 bolt main engine. It has Dart heads, Hydraulic cam, Crane roller rockers, Edelbrock Intake and Carb, MSD Ignition, SFI Balancer and Flex Plate. Hooker Comp Headers and Flowmaster Exhaust.
It has a B&M Turbo 400 Trans with B&M Shifter. 10 Bolt Posi with 373 gears. Very good running small block and transmission barks the tires or completely fry"s them. Very fun car to drive.
Interior has new headliner, package tray, sail panels, back seat covered, new side panels, New carpet, New door panels,
new arm rests, new door and window handles, new glove box, new dash pad, Custom Instrument panel with Autometer tach and gauges. All working! Late model bucket seats fit great. If you prefer a bench seat, I have the original seat that needs recovering. I also have the Column shift linkage for the car. New Outer door handles and Side mirrors, New door and trunk seals, New door, trunk locks and Ignition lock. New headlight and hood trim, New side marker light lenses and chrome Bezels, Some of this may have needed replacement. I just like new chrome trim.
The body is very solid and straight with what I believe are original panels. Doors are very solid with no rust. Body is an easy 8 The paint could have been better. It could use a good paint correction, wet sand and buff. The color is "Burn Out Gray"So it is a Smokey Gray This is not a show car. I think it is a great driver car, It runs, drives and sounds great.
I have put a lot of my time and money making this a fun car. It is time for someone else to enjoy this car.
I have shopped the web searching for a nice driver Nova. Anything close to this is $35K or higher.
I believe $27K is a very reasonable selling price. However, I have made the reserve a bit less. Call if you have any questions or want to make me an offer . 6 zero 2 5 zero 1 fifteen thirteen - Don
