Vehicle description

FORD MUSTANG COBRA JET 428 MACH 1 PROJECT
from
MustangBeginnings Are you needing all the power anyone could want? Up for auction is a 1969 “R” Code 428 Mustang Mach 1 Acapulco Blue Rolling Chassis. Originally equipped with a 4 speed close ratio manual transmission, and 3.50 axle ratio, plus its 4 bbl 428 big block engine, this Shaker Hood Mach 1 will burn rubber all the way down the block when properly restored. It‘s only non performance option was a fold down rear seat. With its Power Disk Brakes and Competition Suspension, this car will handle easily and stop fast if you are planning to race the car. The original 428 engine and 4 speed close ratio manual transmission are not included, but we have a correctly coded 428 engine for sale if you need it, and can help you find the correct engine accessories and Top Loader transmission to complete this great restoration project. As you can see from some of the pictures, we began by putting the body on a rotisserie and sand blasting the body to remove rust, and we protected the car with rust resistant epoxy paint. However, that was a while ago, and there are a couple of spots that will still need your attention to get the car ready for final paint. We were about to begin restoration at Mustang Beginnings to finish the body on this Mach 1, but we thought maybe someone would like to do the rest of the work and save some money. If you have any questions about what is still needed, please give us a call. If the car does not sell now, we will begin restoration as soon as the auction ends, and the price will be much higher when we are finished.
BODY:
The frame of this Mach 1 is in good condition and straight, which makes it a relatively easy car to restore. There is some work needed but the car has new floor pans and quarters which makes the work much easier. We have the experience and the knowledge at MustangBeginnings to help you do the job properly. Doors and fenders look original. The car is an original Acapulco Blue Mach 1 with White Clarion Knit /Corinthian High Back Bucket front seats and fold down rear seats. That combination will make the car stand out in any crowd. Acapulco Blue with a White interior is a great combination. Please see the last picture to get an idea of how this original Muscle Car will look when finished.
INTERIOR:
Plan on the normal interior redo, but the good news is that you can see what is needed. You aren’t accepting someone else’s mistakes or bad repairs. The dash is in good shape, and comes with its original instrument panel, but the dash pad will need replacing or recovering. The seats will, of course, need to be reupholstered, and new carpet is needed as well. The door panels are missing, but you will want new ones anyway in white. The car comes with its High Back Front Bucket seats and rear fold down seat, which will need to be reupholstered to white if you are going for a concourse restoration. Please see the Marti report, which shows all the original options including, Power Front Disk Brakes, AM Radio, competition suspension, interior décor group, and sport deck (fold down) rear seat. When fully restored, this 428 Cobra Jet Mach 1 will easily sell for $75,000 to $80,000.
ENGINE BAY:
Engine bay is in great condition, as you can see from the pictures. The original 428 Cobra Jet engine is not included, nor is original close ratio Top Loader transmission. We can help you with both if needed.
BRAKE SYSTEM:
The Mach 1 has its original power front disk brakes. They are intact and complete, and a great addition to any Mustang. The car does have its original 9 inch rear end. MISC. This Mustang was built on April 3, 1969, five days ahead of schedule. Mustangs were popular then and they still are today.
The Mustang comes with everything shown in the pictures, including the seats. We are a Dynacorn Dealer and can help you with all the parts you may need. WE HAVE 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK AND PLAN TO KEEP IT THAT WAY! THERE ARE NO SURPRISES HERE, WE ENCOURAGE ALL THOSE WHO BID TO COME SEE THE CAR FIRST IF POSSIBLE OR SEND SOMEONE HERE TO INSPECT IT. WE HAVE COMPLETED OTHER 69 MUSTANGS AND KNOW WHAT IT TAKES TO COMPLETE THIS CAR. THIS IS A GOOD CAR TO START WITH. PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS A 69 MUSTANG THAT NEEDS TO BE REBUILT INTO SOMETHING SPECIAL. AGAIN, WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE ALL BIDDERS TO CHECK THE CAR OUT IF POSSIBLE THAT WAY THERE ARE NO MISUNDERSTANDING, MISTAKES, MISCOMMUNICATION, AND ALL THE OTHER MISES.
THE CAR MIGHT NEED THINGS WE DID NOT LIST BUT THE MAJOR ONES HAVE BEEN LISTED. WE PUT THE WORD “PROJECT” IN THE DESCRIPTION TO COVER ANYTHING WE MIGHT HAVE NOT SEEN. WE HAVE THE CAR FOR SALE LOCALLY AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END AUCTION EARLY.
