This 1968 VW Beetle was sitting for 7 years before I bought it. I picked it up in June of 2020 and have touched everything on the car. All of the trim has either been replaced or polished/cleaned if there was no replacement. New Bluetooth radio and speakers, new back seats, battery cutoff switch, redid all of the wiring and hid it so it looks nice, rebuilt the shifter linkage with all new parts, did an alternator changeover, rebuilt speedometer, new glovebox, new windshield washers/wipers, added oil temp light to keep the engine safe, and put on a hand made chrome/blonde oak roof rack made by Foreign Concepts out of Anaheim. The engine is BRAND NEW and is on warranty with the engine builders KlineVW till November of 2021. The break in is finished so it is ready to drive. There is no other 53 year old VW you will find for sale right now with a warranty on it. It"s a very solid engine but it definitely has given me peace of mind to know that if something goes wrong I"m covered. The community for these cars is massive and there are so many great groups/meets that happen every month. This car drives great and takes highways and backroads like a champ. I have probably taken this car to 30+ shows/meets since I have finished it and I"m always getting looks and people asking questions about it. It has one small ding in the rear passenger side quarter panel that you can only see if I point it out. There is NO rust on this car. All the floor panels, trunk panels, and body is in really good condition. The paint is in 8/10 condition with a few chips here and there but the whole car was compounded, polished, and waxed super well. The gray paint has a bit of a pearl and it shines especially when the sun is hitting it.
At the end of the day this is a great car to buy as a weekend cruiser to go to dinner by the beach or go to a car and coffee on Sunday morning. It has a vibe that I have always loved and every time I"m driving it I"m smiling. If you are interested please come and see the car. If you don"t know how to drive stick, I will show you.
