This three owner, incredibly original 1973 Buick Centurion convertible is equipped with Buick’s legendary 7.5L 455 cubic inch V8 engine and three-speed turbo-hydraulic 400 automatic transmission. It’s finished in Jade Green Irid over dark green interior with a white top (still works very well with only a couple cosmetic imperfections). We were told and believe that it’s a REAL DEAL original engine accurate odometer (actual mileage) car. And that old line, “You could write a book about it” won’t be necessary; the impressive amount of original documentation that comes with this spectacular car is quite impressive. It was bought new at Warren Harris Buick, Inc. on December 7th, 1972. Yes, the original sales invoice is present! Also present is its original build sheet, license plate, new car warranty policy info, owner’s manual, 1973 “To Make the Best Even Better” Buick accessories brochure and more (see pics). Here’s a breakdown of its original equipment per the invoice: 455 4 barrel V8 engine, radio, dual exhaust, white walls, ride and handling, tinted glass, rear window defog, bumper prot., remote control O/S mirror, power seat, cruisemaster, tilt wheel, super deluxe wheel covers, protective molding, customline cover and dealer installed radial tires. Also on the invoice is the name of the car’s original owner, Richard Hugo, who was a WWII USAF bombardier who managed to complete 35 successful missions! He was also a world-class writer who wrote literature that took him all the way to the Pulitzer Prize finalist level in 1980. If you’re really into Buicks, this is the ’73 you’re looking for as it would hold its own in ANY collection. In the 47 years since it came off the line in Fairfax, Kansas, she’s only been driven an average of 1,836 miles per year. The body is straight, no rust found on any of its body panels and it was repainted not too long ago.
