Vehicle description
1967 Plymouth Satellite 383 4 speed sure grip "H" code. The Fender tag in place showing was a special ordered car and was a "sold" unit during its build. The Radiator support stamping matches the Build broadcast sheet that was found underneath the carpeting on the drivers side. The vin tag looks great and rivets are original. The Engine is a 1971 383, however the correct air cleaner, carb, single field round back Alternator, and general under hood look and function correct. The Rear end and transmission are original. Aluminum radiator is the only notable change but keeps engine at 180 Degrees. The 2nd owner bought this car in Southern California in 1974 and the blue CA. plates are still on the car. I was told by a family friend of the old gentleman that it cruised the streets of LA back in the day and did many days taking kids to beach and running down pink slips at night. The car was parked sometime around 1990 in a car port type building in desert CA. 25-30 years of mostly sitting burned the paint on the front Hood and rear trunk. The roof I left with thinned paint, but blew in a light coat of the factory ZZ1 gold Metallic on forward hood and few small spots on trunk, then faded to match. The door jams, and 95% are all Original. Some dings and small dents from years of being parked are present, but just goes with the cars history and 54 years, its pretty darn straight! In 2018 the second owner left CA. and moved to Washington State to be with grand kids and flat bed the Plymouth with idea to get back on road. He titled the car and I have the Washington State clean clear title in my hand. He parked the car in a Logging barn (I have 3 pictures of it dirty and being pulled out, going to shop). Aug 2020 the owner sold the car finally to a family friend in Idaho. He started with a new factory correct interior, headliner, doors, dash pad, visors , carpet, as it was dry and sun burned. Great news for the car because there is NO RUST on the car. Gas tank removed, cleaned, new hoses, fuel pump, filter. rear end, trans, and engine oils changed, pinion seal and trans seal replaced. Spark plugs, points, condenser, cap , rotor, wires, replaced. New front wheel bearings and brake adjustment. New windshield, all chrome and trim in place. I installed washer tank/pump, New heater core, shift boot, all lights including back up, blinkers, horn, work. New Ign. ballast resistor , voltage reg and rebuilt alternator. Spare and jack, options wood wheel, glove light box, bucket seats, console very nice. Recent ball joints and tie rods in nice condition. New tires, chassis Lube. I changed the gauge cluster volt. reg. but fuel and temp inop. Speedo jumps around and volt charge does work as does the lighting. Extra dash cluster goes with car. Exhaust sounds good, headers to glass pack, down turns in front of rear end, old school. Car comes with new tips and hangars are on the car if you want to continue on restoring or use as is. This car does not smoke and fires on touch of the key, sounds Great and large folder of records. How many original RP23H are remaining not touched? Not many from what I have found. I brought her to Ct. from Idaho to work on it and keep getting closer to its glory days. I have 100% feedback and love saving rare cars and pass them along, and take pride on my work. Yes its a old Mopar, but really cool to have. Thanks
