Vehicle description

Highlights: ORIGINAL OWNER, 113K MILES, WELL MAINTAINED . Engine runs like new, and transmission shifts beautifully. With all the off-road upgrades, you can conquer almost anything that nature throws your way Upgraded with intention of “real” offroad use, but after moving to Texas 6 years ago, only used minimally ( 5/16” of tread. Rotated every 5 to7k miles (after oil changes). Body mount chop performed by professional welder to accommodate tire size – no rubbing at any articulation I have experienced. · Demello Off-Road Baja Single Hoop Front Bumper · Demello Off-Road 3 Piece Rear Bumper (with back-up sonar mounts and still operable) · Demello Off-Road Rear Receiver Hitch 2” · Gobi Rear Door Ladder and Aries Rear Light guards · Trail Teams Rock Sliders · Factory Overhead Roof Rack and Air Dam · Drop-in roof basket with accessory mounting brackets · HID Roof lights i ntegrated into Air Dam (OEM FJ covers still fit) · OEM Hella 500 Fog Lights mounted on Demello Front Bumper · Front and rear bumper Baja 4” LED lights · LED light upgrade to nearly all bulbs, including interior. Side mirror marker lights converted to amber LED. · Factory console switch(s) for all light controls –all console switches filled, no blanks. Separate roof lights, front lights, and rear lights. · Airlift 1000 series rear airbags with single easy-access Schrader valve mounted next to hitch · Dual Horn system · Rear door cargo nets · Custom trunk gear storage box, heavy duty Baltic birch construction, bed lined, · Bandi CB Mount and removable 4’ CB Antenna (red) · Stubby 6” Off-road AM/FM Antenna · Interior gear hooks upgrade from OEM weak coat hanger hooks · Black out of grill and side mirrors. OEM black door handles · OEM FJ Cruiser branded floormats and new (2019) rear cargo mat · Custom Magnetic hide-away 7-pin Round and 4-pin Flat trailer connector, flips up into bumper area when not in use. · Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller · All non-OEM electronics (trailer power, brake controller, accessory power, CB radio, horns, etc) flow through relay circuits and separate Fused power bus direct-wired to battery. No risk to OEM electronics or wiring. · 12V charging ports added to rear seat on center console, trunk area. Fused Mini-USB added through grommet on A-pillar for any mounted accessories · iPod integration (iPod comes with vehicle, pre-loaded with music) · Batter replaced late 2019 · All replacements/maintenance has been performed with “upgrades” such as higher quality Bosch wiper blades, TRD re-usable high performance air filter with cleaning kit, brake pads, etc. · As a bonus, includes snow chains and tensioners(unused), fire extinguisher, extra front brake pads, and all small OEM components that were removed during upgrades (hooks, door handles, etc) Repairs: Front driver side CV axle replaced aftertearing boot on trail. Toyota OEM replacement, work performed by Toyota garage.(2/22/18) Following an ATF flush by Toyota, transmission became sluggish when shifting between 1 st and neutral. 2 independent repair shops confirmed that metal shavings were in transmission and wearing down gears, also providing evidence that it was likely due to an improperly performed flush. After failure by Toyota Service to accept responsibility, had AABCO Transmission experts perform a complete custom transmission rebuild (6/17/19)using OEM Toyota parts. All documentation included with sale, specific copies can also be provided upon request. Notes: Missing (misplaced) handheld portion of Cobra75WXST CB Radio. Hidden internal unit and antenna system are still wired in. Buyer could also use existing antenna and replace with any CB radio as desired. Passenger side Hella fog light lens is cracked. I haven’t used this in years due to the HID lights on roof and LEDs in bumper, so never replaced
The Colorado "accident" which states "vehicle overturned" did not involve the FJ Cruiser directly. I was towing a single axle trailer on a paved two lane road, and the passenger tire blew out suddenly. This caused the trailer to start pulling off the road onto a gravel embankment. The low angle of the trailer and the sliding against the trailer wheel rim caused it to actually pull off of the ball and the trailer went on its side. I believe that is why they have the "overturned" language. However, the FJ had all 4 tires on the pavement at all times and was not damaged or hit in any way. Even the chains holding the trailer were fine, I was able to disconnect them myself, so clearly not much force. All in all, the vehicle handled the situation very well.
Cosmetic deficiencies
- Small (0.75" x 0.25") hole in edge of driver seat cushion where fabric rests on metal frame, could be covered with patch or left as is- hasn"t expanded in past 2 years.
- A couple door dings/dents on front passenger door.
- Clear coat has brush marks from Mojave desert trail running. I view it as a badge of honor. - - Overall, this is an 11 year old vehicle that I tried to keep in top condition, but still took on many off-road adventures. General Maintenance : Most recent oil change and multi-point inspection occurred on 08/20/20 with Toyota of Denton. Nothing noted aside from cabin air and engine air filter. Prior to this, vehicle serviced on 5-7k mile intervals. Major service conducted at 100k,i.e. coolant flush, front and rear differential fluid flush, oil and transmission fluids flushed and replaced, all systems checked, etc. All brake pads and rotors replaced regularly Wind shield replaced after rock chip in 2018 Detailed inside and out for new buyer Garaged 6 years in Texas; Driveway-parked 5 years in California (minimal weather exposure and no salt roads) I have documentation for all service receipts and work orders across vehicle life-time, including all Toyota work / history reports and orders. Most work performed by Toyota garages (notably excepting transmission rebuild after poor ATF flush)
Comments I am a private party seller—I have done my best to include every detail possible regarding “Sarge”, my 2010 FJ Cruiser 4x4 that I bought new off of the lot in late 2009. If anything, I believe this listing does not do her justice as I tried my hardest to list every deficiency/flaw that I could think of. In reality, I treated her very well over the years, and in return, she kept us safe while traversing some awesome backcountry everywhere between California and Texas. While I have touched the bottom of the rock sliders on rocks, and I have had a couple slow air leaks in the tires, I have never performed any extreme maneuvers. We often went on trails solo, which made me more risk averse than many other rock crawlers/off-roaders. She has never been in water over 12”,she has never rolled or slipped her sides into a rock, dirt, mud, sand, etc. The most contact she has had above the tires is brush and other car doors in parking lots. I have been slowly upgrading every facet of the vehicle, but with very little use over the past few years, I had to make a choice, and her older Landcruiser relative won due to 30 years of seniority. I truly hope that Sarge continues to see some awesome trips. If you are truly interested in adventure, this vehicle will take you there (and back). If you want to verify anything in the listing, I will happily transport to any service garage within Denton County (NW side of Dallas). Potential buyer to pay for any garage inspection costs.
