Vehicle description
Well I officially love this truck and hate to sell it but would like to see it go to a good home, a great Spooky Halloween time deal for someone!
With that out of the way, this truck was originally purchased from a neighbor who was the typical "little old lady" who sadly had her husband pass away and this was his pride and joy. I bought the truck knowing it had not driven in a while and discovered the transmission being bad was the reason, so I had it completely rebuilt, along with a remanufactured carburetor and much, much more I will list below.
Originally I wanted to cut the truck up for a shortbed conversion but just did not have the heart, she just ran and drove so nice and is a great Harley Davidson (or other brand) motorcycle (or anything) hauler, so I just left it alone. Other than the one repaint and one reproduction bumper I believe the truck to be original. The previous owner gave me the original "Pink Slip" California title from the 1980"s. I believe the truck to have been in Benicia, CA garaged for most of its life, an original CALIFORNIA truck never seen salt roads. Garaged and pampered.
3/4 Ton C2500 2WD not 4x4 Goodwrench 350 crate motor installed (20k estimated miles still has sticker on oil pan) Remanufactured Quadrajet carburetor ($350) NEW GM ignition points / cap / rotor / coil / wires / AC Delco plugs Original Turbo 350 3-speed non-overdrive (TH350) freshly rebuilt w/ Transgo shift kit and Alto High Energy Clutches ($2000) New Torque Converter (cover removed for photo only) Center Bearing replaced Sending unit and gas tank replaced Factory Ram Horn exhaust manifolds to 2 1/2" custom H-Pipe Dynomax turbo style mufflers with side exit rolled tips (sounds real nice see video) 8 lug all the way around Original 16.5" HD truck steel 1971 wheels OG hub caps (missing rear two) Dana 60 full floater rear end Factory DISC front brakes Factory A/C truck with R134 conversion (needs charge) RARE Factory Dealer installed twin side saddle 15 gallon each Travel Tanks (50 gallon capacity with original tank combined) Colorado Leisure Mfg. aluminum flapper doors working with key 2 sets of ignition and door keys Dash is uncut! Factory AM radio with single speaker swapped for a (80"s?) vintage Realistic AM/FM/Cassette shaft mount deck Dual Realistic brand speakers mounted in the kick panels Interior in great shape 9/10! Fire extinguisher mounted in cab Bed was professionally Rhino lined when truck was repainted Extra original 16.5" spare wheel included with what I think is the original 1971 Firestone tire on it
Truck has one rust hole in the firewall on a really common area where they meet the hood and the paint is bubbling in a few spots, most notably the drivers" lower fender. The repaint is fading and peeling because it was cheap water based and from sitting. you can still see the original paint and white top in some spots. The Frame / Cab / Rocker Panels are in great shape from what I can see unlike a LOT of trucks this era. Laser straight!
The A/C has been converted to R134a with a newer style rebuilt compressor and everything is there (factory A/C truck not a hack job or vintage air). However I think the switch needs replacement as it doesn"t seem to command on and the Fan blows most all the time, even when you cycle it too the off position. It probably needs a recharge too but haven"t dealt with it as this truck never gets driven in bad weather, that is what my 2000 Silverado is for.
All in all, it is a great truck I would drive anywhere. Runs and drives great but please do remember it is a 50 year old truck now!
No warranties expressed or implied, sold as-is, where is. Truck is located and will be picked up from the city of Benicia, CA zip code 94510. $500 deposit within 48 hours as per standards, and cash only on pickup.
I will be happy to work with any buyer or shipping service, please have all your ducks in a row and permission from the Mrs. please!
