I have a 2015 VW Passat TDI SEL for sale. This car is in excellent overall condition. Mechanically, no issues, cosmetically it has the typical scars of use on the road for 62k miles. The car drives great and achieves 35 mpg in the city and about 45 mpg on the highway. Passat diesels are very comfortable cars with plenty of room in the cabin and a huge trunk and a very quiet ride. I just put tires (Michelin Primacy"s) on it in May of last year. If you have never driven a diesel Passat, you are in for a treat. They are very comfortable cars and have plenty of pickup. The diesel engine drive train puts out 236 ft/lb of torque while achieving the mpg above. All maintenance has been done by myself at the recommended VW intervals.
Warranty Information:
This car is covered under the extended warranty from VW. This was part of the agreement for "dieselgate". See below for the official document verbiage from VW. This warranty is fully transferable. There is no charge to transfer the warranty as it goes with the car.
Extended Warranty Information (from VW):
For the following Volkswagen 2.0 L TDI engine vehicles updated with the emissions modification, a warranty extension is applicable. 2012 to 2014 Model Year Passat Warranty Period. The warranty period for the “Extended Emissions Warranty” limited warranty extension shall be the GREATER of: 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle’s original in - service date; OR 4 years or 48,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the date and mileage of the emissions modification.
The vehicle’s original in - service date is defined as the date the vehicle was delivered to either the original purchaser or the original lessee; or if the vehicle was first placed in service as a “demonstrator” or “company” car, on the date such vehicle was first placed in service.
This vehicle, specifically, has the following warranty: Extended Emissions Warranty Information * : The vehicle has an Extended Emissions Warranty that runs for 11 years or 162,000 miles from the original in-service date. Please see your VW dealership for additional information including the vehicle"s in-service date. In addition, and concurrently, the Extended Emissions Warranty runs for 5 years or 60,000 miles (whichever occurs first) from the date of modification or first dealer resale post-modification.
