Introduced in 2011 for the 2012 model year, the second generation "F25" X3 was launched with all-wheel drive and automatic transmissions for all U.S. models, and featured a chassis nearly as large as the first-generation "E53" X5. A 2015 model year update saw the F25 receive redesigned kidney grilles, revised front and rear bumpers, side mirrors with integrated turn indicators, new wheel designs, and various improvements to the interior. Power comes from an "N55" 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline-6, which produces 302 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque in stock form. The engine spins all four wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission and xDrive all-wheel-drive system.
