Vehicle description
This is a rare car and I regularly get 42 MPG on the highway. My all-time record on a super-long drive was 50.1 MPG! I went just over 1000 miles on a tankful and my butt was killing me. All of the E-Class sedans sold in the USA of this generation (W212) have the 21.1 gallon tank, the larger of two available sizes worldwide. Maintenance has been performed on a regular basis and the most recent service was to replace the (2) engine mounts and the (1) transmission mount. The coolant and brake fluid were flushed and replaced recently. Anything it needed, it got done.
It has a brand-new windshield so your ownership experience will be as nice as I can make it. Check one of the photos - it shows this to be a fairly well-optioned car, only missing one or two items such as the full glass moonroof (which can really heat up the interior on a hot day). I installed a Class III trailer hitch for my bicycle rack. As a professional automotive sound treatment guy, this car has received several sound treatment upgrades - mostly hidden from view.
During a dealership service visit (see below), I was given a 2021 E-Class sedan to drive (gasoline), and I can honestly say I like this generation better. Thanks to my sound treatment package, using sophisticated materials way beyond Dynamat, this car is actually quieter than even a gasoline-engined E-Class of 2021.
This car has just had the full Mercedes-Benz of America warranty settlement package - as part of a settlement with the feds, you are getting a complete new exhaust system (stainless steel), and several other emissions related parts. I was told by the dealer this would cost over $7000 if I paid for it out of pocket.
Call me and we can arrange a short test drive and make delivery arrangements. When I bought this car in 2017 I was concerned about facing high repair bills due to it being a Mercedes-Benz. However, I can sincerely say that this is the most reliable car out of all 45 cars I have owned.
