The 2011 Triumph Thruxton 900 is a sporty, classic motorcycle that is inspired by the Bonneville-based cafe racer-style bikes popular in the 1960s. Launched in 2004, it got its name from the famous Hampshire racetrack in Great Britain - a place Triumph had a great deal of success. An air-cooled, 865-cc, twin cylinder engine that churns out 68-horsepower at 7,400 revolutions per minute (rpm) and 51 lb.-ft of torque at 5,800 rpm powers the 2011 Triumph Thruxton - which is an incredible improvement from its corporate predecessor, the Bonneville. This brawny EFI engine with its abundance of power and torque is perfect for swift city rides and even more enjoyable on longer trips with comfy seating and a full-on-racey stance. Although it will not win any races, it is a lot of fun to ride. Thanks to 1.7-inch forks teamed with chromed twin shock absorbers, both adjustable for preload, ride and handling is composed and pleasant. As expected from Triumph"s flagship model of their classic line, the Thruxton has a nifty, eye-catching design. It finished in the premium color scheme of diablo red with a white race stripe. Its minimalist lines flow over its body to help create an extremely appealing style. Laced wheels, a tuck and roll stitched seat with a bulbous rear cowl, megaphone silencers, low bars and chromed accents emanate a retro vibe that is hard to resist. The Triumph Thruxton is probably one of the most representative face-racers out there, a true benchmark upon which others are judged. Based on the glorious Bonneville platform, but sporting the unique, ageless lines of the late 60"s, the Thruxton carries on the retro heritage to an even greater level of success. Meticulously cared for since new this superb example has a mere 2,682 miles on the odometer and is ready for immediate enjoyment this spring!
