Vehicle description
Vehicle Details This vehicle served as a detective car for the Greenwich CT police department. This being a Greenwich CT detective’s car it was more gently used than the average patrol car and only clocks 82K miles. I acquired it upon its retirement in 2019. The Ford Police Interceptor, with the 4.6 V8, enjoys a well-earned reputation for ruggedness and durability but it is also a comfortable daily driver. It was an upgraded detective model; with such conveniences as: cruise control, 6-way power driver seat, heated mirrors, and adjustable brake pedal levels. Since it is the police model it has: heavy-duty alternator, cooling system, heavy-duty brakes, spotlight, aluminum drive shaft, 3:55 limited slip rear end, heavy-duty suspension, safety shroud for the gas tank, and auto fuel- pump shutoff to protect against rear end collision, hi-flow air intake. It also, less importantly, has Kevlar door inserts to deflect gunfire and stabproof lining in the front seatbacks, vinyl easy clean rear seat and rubber flooring instead of carpet. I did add a Pioneer sound system and speakers with a backup camera and Bluetooth and it has excellent sound quality. The back seat needs door panels and the back of the driver's seat needs stitching if you are concerned with appearances. The body is in very good shape and the original paint has excellent shine. There are no dents but some small dings and scratches and a 3-inch tear in the rear bumper cover.Upgrades I have made in the last year are: new front brakes, new General GT Altima tires, new water and power steering pumps. Intake manifold, spark plugs and coils (OEM) were replaced in the last 5K miles. This car is simple to operate and pleasant to drive, AC and heat work as well as all accessories. It is a great daily driver as I said and has never let me down, I’m selling it because it has become a second car and I need the driveway space.2011 was the last year of production for this model and it was the last American sedan with body on frame construction, a fact you’ll appreciate if you get in a serious collision.
