Vehicle description
About this vehicle This 2011 BMW M3 is a modified vehicle with updates to the exterior, interior and drivetrain. The owner has had it for 3 years. The vehicle runs great and is used as a daily driver. Seller"s Notes Buyer pickup Vehicle Details This is my daily driver, garage kept & covered parking at work. The daily round trip, taken five days a week, is 6.6 miles, so it is not driven much; I purchased the vehicle as it’s third owner when it had 129k miles. It is in excellent condition, with minor cosmetic flaws which one might expect on a car of this age & mileage - people I’ve that have shared their opinion always tell me this car is “perfect” for what it is. The car has been taken care of and it shows. When I purchased it the week of Christmas 2017, it was from armed services member, selling as he was retiring from the Air Force and moving to Greece, which kept him from being able to keep it. He was the second owner and had only owned it for about a year, which means that it spent the majority of it’s life with the first owner of the car. The gentlemen I purchased from had advertised it on EBay motors, which is where I purchased it. He lived in Maryland, so I flew to Maryland and drove it back almost exactly 1,000 miles straight through with no issues. Before I did, I did a VIN check and there was a disclosure of a prior accident early in the life of the vehicle with the first owner; I would also mention here that the first owner, for the majority of the life of the car, was in Florida. I purchased a copy of the accident report and still have it to offer anyone interested, which details a fender bender in a gas station. The owner at that time had went to a gas station and the car was parked at a pump when a senior in a minivan ran into the parked car while pulling out of a parking space at the station. The front number was painted and is not very noticeable unless you are up close inspecting it. The car has a clean title. Anyone who knows these cars always asks about two things: throttle control units and rod bearings. I replaced the throttle control units a year ago and have the originals to show they were done. As for the rod bearing, I do not have any knowledge as to if they were or were not changed because there were not many records that came with the car. The person I bought it from supplied records for having replaced the clutch while he owned it. He also shared that the convertible hydraulic motor was replaced because it had seepage of the fluid, at a cost of $1,500. In addition to the throttle control units, the valve cover gaskets replaced on both sides with OEM gaskets in 2020, and in the later part of 2019, as well as a new OEM alternator and new tires all the way around . With regard to regular maintenance, oil has been changed with fully synthetic Redline oil every 5k miles and the power steering fluid was just flushed and replaced. My thoughts on the infamous rod bearings are that this vehicle is not one that ever required they be changed. There is no way of telling and any shop will tell you that they must be done as “maintenance”. BMW updated these cars after their debut in 2008, which included changing from lead bearings to aluminum in 2010 and a facelift in 2011. Aside from that, many makes and models of cars have some incidence of rod bearing failure. Sound reasoning also infers that a car, this year with this mileage, either does not have an issue to deal with or the maintenance has been done. Many modifications were done prior to me owning the car. The person I purchased the car from installed black powered coated 19” BMW Alpina B7 rims at the tune of around $1k each. He also installed carbon fiber front & rear bumper diffusers, 6k HID angel eye bulbs & 12k HID headlamps, and dark tint & professionally smoked taillights. He also did minor things like LEDs to replace all the interior and exterior bulbs, such as those on the door handles and license plate lights. Modifications I did are a Macht Schnell air intake & Dyna cat-back dual exhaust - which sounds phenomenal and is one of the biggest differentiators of this car. Also, wired and installed Kicker 300 watt amp and 10” round Kicker sub, with the factory stereo. The DVD player has had a software upgrade to play DVD while the car is driving and I’ve added a bluetooth stereo control unit as the factory bluetooth only operates for mobile phone use. The car runs beautifully and is a symphony of sounds. It drives straight as an arrow. You could confidentially drive this car anywhere and expect a great experience for the next 100k miles. I had reservations when I first found the car, however after speaking with the seller and learning his character, I was not as apprehensive. I’d expressed concerns about some of the things mentioned here and he promised the car was not a lemon and was only selling it cause of what it would cost him to take it to Greece. I have had a wonderful time with it and am selling it to get a mini van as I was not a father when I purchased the car, but now I am and everyone knows the package deal with being married and a father. When I set out to purchase a car years back, I didn’t have a specific make and model in mind. I was in search of a 2 door convertible, with a V8, manual transmission and rear-wheel drive, which is the result was this car. As an added bonus for me, I’ve appreciated that the car has a 51/49 weight ratio so it handles like my former mid-engine 355 Ferrari and revs slightly higher than the Ferrari with a redline of 8,300 RPMs. Exterior Interior Engine Download the Motors app
