Vehicle description
Hello!
For Sale is a 2009 Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works.
This car belonged to my father who recently passed away. It has been stored in his heated barn - he was intending to repair the cylinder head but never got round to it. The car was originally owned by my sister but it developed a problem with the valves (a common issue with these cars apparently - something to do with the high pressure oil pump if I remember correctly). My sister has told me that just before the engine problem she replaced the clutch at a cost of about $7000 ( No receipt to back this up) .
My father has a box of parts in his barn, he had been intending to fix the engine but never got round to it. - see the picture. I"m not sure if it"s all the parts to fix the problem but I can see a lot of parts that would be necessary for the job - (timing chains, chain guides, valves, water pump, gaskets, tools, pulleys, tensioners etc)
The car is being sold as is for spares or repair. Apart from the engine, the car is in reasonable condition and has lots of valuable parts which could be sold or used on another car (alloys etc).
Please please please understand that you are buying a car that is for spares or repairs - this thing is not going to drive away - it needs putting on a trailer and taking somewhere. The spare parts are included with the car but I stress that it might not be every part necessary to complete the job and I can"t promise they are even the correct parts to complete the job (my dad was a fine mechanic and I"m confident he would have got the right parts but I don"t want to assume or promise anything) - consider the box of parts as an added bonus. Please also understand that it might be missing some bits (I can"t find one of the headlights for example) so again, it is being sold as is for spares or repairs.
With all that being said the bodywork, subframe, alloys etc all look to be in reasonable condition.
The car has a clean Washington State title and is located about 15 minutes outside of Yakima, WA.
Due to logistical reasons the buyer needs to come and pick the car up next weekend (Saturday 8th May, Sunday 9th May or maybe Monday 10th May). Payment by PayPal or Cash on collection please.
No Reserve - Good Luck.
