Vehicle description

2009 BMW X5 35d Fully Deleted & Stage 3 BPC Tuned xHP Stage 1 Transmission Tune & xDelete "Sport" Tuned Transfer Case I am the 4 th owner and purchased from the 3 rd whom was a BMW Technician and kept full records of all maintenance and repairs since new. I am a BMW enthusiast and have been working on and with these cars for the better part of the past 20 years. Please read the entire description and feel free to e-mail with any questions you may have after doing so. Overall the X5 is in excellent condition given the mileage and age and a significant amount of time and money has been invested to make it truly an excellent example. The paint is original. After purchase last year I removed the clear PPF (paint protection film) that was installed in 2013 @ 38,000 miles. Due to this fact the paint underneath & headlights look to be much newer than the year and mileage would indicate. Since taking ownership I have completed the following mechanical & maintenance work: 7/27/2019 Replaced Serpentine & A/C Drive Belts 142,800 7/27/2019 Replaced Oil Filler Neck Gasket 142,800 7/27/2019 Installed Forge 35d Hose Adaptor / New Hot Side Hose 142,800 7/27/2019 Replaced Air Inlet Gasket @ Turbo 142,800 7/27/2019 Replaced Valve Cover Vent Tube 142,800 7/27/2019 Oil & Filter Change 142,800 7/27/2019 Power Steering Fluid Flush/Fill 142,800 7/27/2019 Replaced Front Forward Torsion Arm Left & Right 142,800 7/27/2019 Replaced Engine Air Filter 142,800 7/27/2019 Replaced Cold Side Charge Hose Gasket @ EGR 142,800 9/6/2019 Replaced Turbo Side Vacuum Hoses w/ HPS Silicone 144,342 9/6/2019 Replaced Cold Side Charge Couplers w/HPS & PPE 144,342 9/6/2019 Replaced F & R Electronic Pressure Converters (Turbos) 144,342 10/1/2019 Oil & Filter Change 144,682 10/7/2019 Harmonic Balancer & Belts 144,682 11/15/2019 Front & Rear Differential Fluid Change (75w-140 Syn) 145,313 11/15/2019 New Genuine ZF Solenoids 145,313 11/15/2019 Sonnax Zip Kit Installed 145,313 11/15/2019 Tranmission Fluid Flush/Fill (x2) Ford Mercon SP (ZF Fluid) 145,313 11/15/2019 Transmission Pan/Filter Replacement 145,313 11/15/2019 Mechatronics Sealing Tube & Main Seal Replacement 145,313 11/15/2019 Custom Stainless 3” Midpipe Replacement 145,313 2/1/2020 Front Struts, Strut Mounts, Swaybar Endlinks 146,847 2/1/2020 Front Lower Ball Joint & Rear Torsion Arms 146,847 7/6/2020 New OEM 19" Wheels & Bridgestone RFT Tires 148,221 7/12/2020 Oil & Filter Change 148,384 Oil: Rotella T6 5w-40 Filter: MAHLE OEM Transmission Fluid: Ford Mercon SP ZF Approved Fluid. I have the rest of this list in an Excel file that dates back to the delivery of the vehicle when it was received by the original owner in 2009. If you’d like to review, I’d be happy to e-mail it over. Avg. oil change mileage is 7,800. The largest repair conducted by the previous owner was replacement of the transmission with a factory correct lower mileage unit @ approximately 120,000 miles. At that time the mechatronics unit past the solenoids was not replaced nor were sealing tubes. This was taken care of almost immediately after I took delivery, inspecting and overhauling the mechatronics unit with a Sonnax Zip Kit a fresh set of OEM ZF solenoids and the appropriate fluid transfer sealing tubes. It shifts very well in both normal xHP stage one drive setting and the more aggressive sport/manual mode. I have used only the most premium diesel fuel available (CountryMark Dieselex-4) since ownership. If you do not have access to something similar, I would recommend running an additive for cetane boost and extra lubricity. European diesels like a minimum cetane rating of 50 which normal on-road U.S. diesel does not achieve. I can provide suggestions. This vehicle is fully deleted and is not set up to pass any sort of emissions test. Buyer is fully responsible for the consideration of any passenger vehicle diesel emissions requirements in their respective local. I purchased the X5 as a second car to be used for trips and to tow our single WaveRunner (1,500 lbs). We are moving to a diesel emissions controlled area within the next year and thereby have decided to sell. It is extremely smooth on the highway, drives like a tank and hits triple digit speeds with ease. Very well sorted and ready for the next owner to enjoy. Bimmer Performance Center is located in NC and has a reputation for being one of the best tuning and mechanical repair shops in the country. Their tunes are among the best. A typical BMC Dynojet result has been provided as a picture. This is not an actual dyno of this specific vehicle, simply representative of what this tune typically makes over stock. There is a methanol injection system installed on the car. It uses a Devils Own DO3 injection nozzle and 20% Methanol window washer fluid. It is boost activated (27~28 psi) and tied into the ignition switch and has a manual on-off switch for full driver control. It is an adder, not necessary and only used when wanted. The car has been tuned to not need it on constantly. This is by all accounts a specialty vehicle and should be considered so by the new owner. I only recommend buying something like this when you have a full knowledge of what you are buying. In the effort of full transparence the following is being disclosed: The valve cover gasket is original and has not yet been replaced. This will likely need to be done in the near future. I have sourced all parts to do so as it was on my list of things to do and will provide to the new owner. The wheels and tires are brand new OEM factory mounted 19" BMW wheels and Run Flat Bridgestone tires. The sensors that are installed in these wheels are generation 3, this car is compatible with the 1 st gen sensors so the TPMS shows a fault. A tire chain such as Discount Tire can install compatible sensors for $60 per wheel. My intent would be to have them replaced when the tires need to be replaced. The back-up camera does not work. The previous owner upgraded the iDrive display to the larger and more complete 2010+ unit. In doing so he was unable to regain access to the rear camera. This is likely a coding issue, but could be more. It doesn’t bother me so I did not address. All other display items function including telephone Bluetooth, navi, vehicle service reminders, sound settings, etc . function and are present. A blank service notification is present (see pictures). This is simply a mileage reminder that the DPF needs to be inspected (DPF is removed). This was once coded out, but after using my check tool to reset the oil reminder it seems to have reactivated it. Again this can be coded out, but it is a blank place holder totally benign and hasn’t been worth my time. There are various and normal wear areas throughout the interior particularly on the rubberized areas that surround the window control buttons, steering wheel buttons, door handle pulls, etc. .For those whom know BMW"s this is normal and unavoidable. Given the age, mileage and our use patterns I did not address. The exterior is very clean and is far above average for the year, there are minor rock chips and a few small scratches and scrapes that come with the age and miles. Detailed pictures can be sent if necessary. This needs to be repeated again. . This is a non-catalyzed diesel engine. It does smell. An option to reduce smell would be to add a catalytic down pipe. These are readily available and I can assist the new buyer in locating one if interested. After purchasing, I fabricated a custom mid-pipe to match up to the downpipe. The work the previous owner did had some spotty welding which would leak exhaust, allowing some scent into the cabin. The new pipe is a 3" resonated stainless system with a 360 degree clamps and high temp RTV exhaust sealant at all joints, it has almost completely eliminated any in-cabin smell. The licenses for the tuning software are not transferable, if the new owner is interested in changing the xDelete setting or the xHP tune you will have to purchase and download the applications. I can assist in this process. This is an opportunity to own a very well maintained, unique and fun X5. Open to reasonable offers, but this is not a fire sale and I am not interested in trades of any sort. More pictures available. A sk questions through e-mail. Thanks for looking!
