Vehicle description
For sale is a 2009 BMW 1 Series Coupe. The vehicle is sold as is where is. Up until yesterday this was my daily driver and has been for the last 7 years. The vehicle has just over 148K miles on it and has been reliable over that time always being maintained or serviced at either a BMW dealership or a privately owned service station that specialized in BMW service.
So let me start off with the things that I know need to be addressed on the car. This car will be sold as is:
There are a few spots of parking lot damage. All of them were actually done by either me or a family member while the car was parked in a tight spot while we were doing construction on our house. There is a dent in the quarter panel which can be fixed and would not need to be replaced. The rear bumper has damage from where a truck backed into it and most likely would need to be replaced. The front bumper and fender area have a small amount of damage which can be repaired. And the passenger door has a door ding. I have tried to show all of the items in the photo.
The windshield needs to be replaced
The driver side door has some internal items that need to be worked on. The door lock does not unlock unless you pull the handle from the inside. (I think the rod may have come loose from the latch). The auto window function does not work anymore but the window still goes up and down though. Since these doors are frameless the window does not drop down when opening anymore so may need a new regulator.
The valve covers have a leak which I was told about last oil change. It is a slow leak that I don"t notice anything on the ground but could loose about 1/2 a quart of oil between oil changes.
The service light is on when you first start the car. This is for a brake fluid flush that was done but BMW never updated the system.
The check engine light is not on but was on recently and went off. Not sure if it was a gas cap not tight but I noticed no driving issues or anything.
The passenger seat belt alarm goes off sometimes with no one in it. So I have just kept it buckled.
The car needs to be detailed and if kept I would repair the items on the body to get many more years of service out of it. All the lights work on the car
Now for the good:
The interior needs to be detailed (as does the entire car) but is still in good shape, the power seats work and I am not aware of anything that is not working. The vehicle has been serviced regularly. Brakes have been replaced, spark plugs and coils replaced about 3 years ago. And run flat tires were replaced about a year ago maybe 15k ago. Water pump was replaced 2 years ago and a new battery 2 years ago (the correct BMW replacement programed to the car). Navigation system works great!
As stated this car has 148k and I have tried to describe the items not working on the car or items that I am aware of but selling as is where is. May be a great car to use for parts or to fix up as your main driver. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks!
