The Good: This car was owned by my father and passed down to us, so it"s been in one family and primarily used as a commuter car. It has just over 182,000 highway miles. It needs work, but here are some of the better features: The engine runs very good and has a brand new Duralast battery. Oil was changed roughly every 5,000 miles. Continental True Contact tires have only 30k miles on them and have a solid amount of tread left. Interior is in decent shape with only moderate wear on the leather seats. This is a non-smoking car, but we do have kids and a small dog. A/C is nice and cold, and all power systems work great, including the moonroof and all doors and locks. Premium sound system with CD and MP3 aux. jack Blind spot warning system Heated front seats and dual climate control. Title is clean.
The Bad: This car needs a significant amount of small to moderate mechanical repairs. I will try to list all of them below: Key fob is stuck in the ignition. It"s the weirdest thing. We just use the spare fob to lock the doors and set the alarm. Rear brakes and rotors are shot and need replacing - it"s literally metal-on-metal The rear tailgate latch is broken but works if you know how to jimmie it. However, the gate does not stay open on its own. There is a frequent and loud squeak coming from the passenger side rear of the car. We"ve been told that it"s a bushing in either the tr ailing arm or control arm, and one or both need to be replaced. There is a major leak in the windshield washer reservoir and needs to be replaced. Rear wiper blade needs to be replaced.
The Ugly: While this car was never in an accident, there are a fair amount of cosmetic issues. Again, I"ll try to list them all below, but please refer to the photos: Large push-in dent on left rear quarter-panel that could probably be popped out The shell of the passenger side mirror is cracked/broken but the power mirror function still works Two dents over one of the doors where someone apparently tried to break into the car Dent in driver-side rear door - likely from a parking lot Several small dents in hood from acorns, baseballs, etc. License plate frames are rusty Scrapes in bumpers Cracked rear parking light Various other slight paint blemishes you"d find on any 180k mile car
If you"re looking for a perfect car you can drive away with, this is not for you. However, this is a great car for someone who is handy, a mechanic, or a reseller who knows a good car when they see one and who has the knowledge and resources to fix it up. With the right care, you could probably get another 100k miles out of it.
Please message me with any questions and I"ll be as forthright as possible. If I think of any further issues, I will list them asap.
