Vehicle description

I am selling a 2008 Toyota Prius. This is the Touring Edition, Package Two which comes with 16" wheels, upgraded "Tuned" suspension components and larger rear spoiler. The car is also equipped with skid control. I believe these features combine to make this a safer and better handling car than the standard Prius.
The current mileage on the car is 115,106. It will have a more miles when the auction closes as I will drive it every few days to keep the HVTB charged, but it will be well under 115, 250 at auction close.
The exterior color is "Spectra Blue Mica." It has four (4) body colored mudflaps.
I bought this a few of months ago after both of my cars had been damaged by hit and run drivers while parked. . one week apart. I intended to drive it while my cars were being repaired, fix it up and then give it to my girlfriend"s daughter. I probably should have spoken with her first. .her heart is set on a Jeep. I have had zero problems or issues with the car.
This is a Florida car. It was purchased in Clearwater and was serviced at Clearwater Toyota dealers through February 15, 2019 at 112,158 miles. I have a print-out service history dating back to 10/30/07 when the odometer was at 549 miles. It was regularly serviced approximately every 5,000 miles. I just had it serviced by my mechanic. . Mobil 1 5W-30 high mileage full synthetic oil (I added Ceratec oil treatment) along with new air (Wix) and oil (Fram ULTRA) filters. All four rubber exterior window scrapers were replaced with new OEM Toyota parts. I installed new Bosch Icon wiper blades in the front and a Valeo Ultimate in the rear. As I was detailing the interior, I cleaned the HVTB cooling fan, a procedure that dealers charge several hundred dollars for. I also installed LED license plate bulbs and four new wheel center caps with the Toyota logo. The car needs nothing mechanically.
I had the headlights professionally polished and then coated them with Optimum Opti-Lens, a permanent coating solution. I then covered them and the foglamps with an XPel headlight protection kit. Not a perfect install, but it will protect them from breakage and yellowing/clouding for the life of the car. By the way, the headlights are the upgraded high intensity discharge (HID) variant and the car came equipped with factory fog lamps.
This is a Smart Key car and will come with two remotes, both with new batteries and new silicone protective covers. You only have to grab the door handle with the keys on your person and the doors unlock. The car will start by pushbutton as long as the key is somewhere in the passenger compartment.
Four matching Goodyear Assurance tires (195/55-16) with good tread left and a recent Optima Yellow Top battery. .the one specifically designed for the Prius.
Everything on the car works. .the electric windows, power door locks, cruise control, steering wheel controls, tilt steering wheel, rearview back-up camera, wipers, washers, touchscreen and various displays. The AC blows VERY cold. The sound system is the AM/FM stereo w/CD player and MP3 playback with six (6) speakers. .works fine and sounds good.
The car is rust fee, very straight and very clean.
I am reasonably certain it has never been smoked in, it certainly hasn"t while I"ve had it. I am very sensitive to cigarette smell and detect no odors.
Included: Original owner"s manual, Prius all weather floor mats in the front, a brand new Lund Catch-all floor mat (one mat covers the entire rear floor and hump) in the rear, a custom fit Cover King windshield shade and the OEM rear cargo area tonneau cover. The spare tire appears unused and the jack and related tools are all there.
I recently (July "19) took the car on a long beach weekend 200 miles away. Everything worked flawlessly and I got 49.4 miles per gallon door to door and that was with running the AC continuously.
It is an eleven year old car and has some flaws:
1. I don"t think it was ever garaged before, the clear coat has failed on the roof, hood, spoiler, A pillars, the tops of the bumpers and the upper edges of the doors, fenders and mirrors. There are also various paint chips and scratches. It is a very straight car with no rust, but the paint needs attention.
2. I am certain a prior owner had the interior seats recovered. The car originally came with gray cloth seats, but they are now covered in gray vinyl with blue inserts.Whoever did so did an excellent job and used obviously high quality vinyl materials, but both front seats show wear and minor damage. The rear seats are in excellent condition. The carpeting is also in very good condition in the front and excellent condition in the rear. The headliner is in excellent condition as well.
3. A prior owner had aftermarket window tint installed on the two front widows. The passenger window has either an installation flaw or was subsequently damaged. It didn"t bother me enough to change it.
4. The car makes the typical hybrid sounds. On occasion there is a buzzing noise coming from the driver foot well area. My review on PriusChat indicates this is normal and probably related to braking system pressurization. Hybrids do make some unusual noises at times. These are described in the owner"s manual and forums.
5. There is wear to the steering wheel.
6. The plastic wheel covers are missing. I would have removed them anyway, I much prefer the gunmetal gray alloy wheels. Three of the wheels have varying degrees of curb rash.
7. The prior owner told me someone hit the left rear corner in a parking lot. There is damage to the lower corner of the bumper and it is slightly misaligned relative to the rear quarter panel. The CarFax report (available upon request) indicates reported damage to the left front and front on 11/21/18. I find no evidence of damage or repairs to the front. That time frame is consistent with what I was told about the parking lot mishap and I suspect "front" was entered instead of "rear" in error in a report.
The vehicle is located in Tampa, Florida. You are absolutely welcome to inspect it or arrange for a mechanic to do so.
All photographs were taken by me on September 7, 2019. The reproduction window sticker (picture #24) was purchased online.
While I have described the vehicle to the best of my ability, it is sold "as is" with no warranties of any kind, express or implied. As indicated above, I welcome a pre-sale inspection.
A non-refundable $500 deposit is due withing 48 hours of auction close. The balance is due within 7 days of auction"s end by cash or bank transfer. Other payment methods subject to discussion. The vehicle will not be released until full payment has cleared. . no exceptions. I will be happy to deliver the vehicle to a transport company in Tampa, Florida if you will be shipping the car. Clear/clean Florida title in hand.
I am NOT interested in any trades and I do NOT offer financing.
Please message me for a copy of the full CarFax report, maintenance records and/or additional photographs or with any questions you might have.
This is a great example of a relatively low mileage Prius in excellent mechanical condition. I would not hesitate to drive it across country tomorrow. It does, however, have the cosmetic issues described above and depicted in the photographs.
