Vehicle description

When Pontiac launched the Solstice, I had to have one. I set the target date for 2010 when my current car would turn ten years old. Then GM shuttered Pontiac in 2009 and accelerated my plan. I bought this 2008 off the lot, one of the two last ones in the state. I have had it ever since. I’m a car guy, and if you are a car guy/gal,you know what that means. This car had been cared for. Castrol Syntec for every oil change, completed before the oil life monitor said one was due. Antifreeze changed at half the recommended intervals. Garaged every night, washed most weekends. Drive train is the base 2.4 liter 4 cylinder mated to a five-speed manual transmission. A manual because if you are going to drive, you might as well DRIVE. Original clutch still works great. Burns no oil. Leaks no fluids. Makes no odd noises. Gas mileage has been in the mid-20 mpg range from Day 1. Black exterior and top. Factory wheels. Pontiac accessory mud guards are mounted on all four wheels. There are the usual minor chips and scratches for a ten-year-old car. And it does not really show in the pictures, but there is only so much protection I could give from the Florida sun. The top is perfect, but the trunk lid and some of the hood has a little fading. The body shop told me I could buff it out, but I’ll let that be your first bonding experience with your new car. The black interior is near perfect. The leather seats have had so much care lavished upon them that the mother of the donor cow has sentme a thank you card. Carpet is in great shape with only some minor heel wear on the driver’s floor mat, which had been replaced at 100K miles for the car’s birthday. Also included is a cool set of saddlebags that go over the center console, a Pontiac accessory sold for the Solstice. Given the lack of storage space in the car, this little thing has been fantastic. Things done over the last year or so: The cooling fan bearing started making a grinding noise a few months ago, so I replaced it.That saved you $300. I just replaced the hazy headlights with brand new GM lenses. That saved you $500. Front and rear brake pads and rotors recently replaced. Still plenty of meat on both. Tires are only a few years old and have lots of tread on them. Factory stereo gave up the ghost within the last year or so and this one is a new Delco replacement. The car has had two recalls, fo rthe ignition switch and the passenger seat airbag sensor. Both are complete.Full service records come with the car. In over ten years, I’ve had no problems with this vehicle. Why sell such a great car? Three words. Mazda Miata RF. The Siren’s song could not be ignored. Time for an upgrade. But that works in your favor. As you can see by the recent work on the car, I wasn’t planning on selling and wasn’t letting it go downhill. That means you get a car that needs nothing but your butt in the seat and your hand on the gearshift. Fly into the Orlando airport and I’d have no qualms about you driving it home. (I recommend putting the top up as you get further north. Also, pack light. The trunk is small.) Pontiac Historical Society documents included. Car cover and service manuals available for an extra fee. The terms: $500 non-refundable-for-any-reason-including-the-zombie-apocalypse deposit due within 24 hours of the auction end. Funds to be paid with certified check, bank transfer, or cash in person within seven days of auction end.Pickup within fourteen days of auction end. If you are flying in, we can work something out. If you go the transport service route, I’ll be happy to help whoever you hire to load it up. If you will not be here in person, I will not release to the shipper until your funds have cleared for five business days. The reserve is set based on the Kelly Blue Book value, so don’t get your hopes up that I’m giving this family member away. I have several cars, keep one more is no big deal. Happy bidding. Email me with any questions you have. The sale is subject to the following conditions and representations: This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty.
