Vehicle description
2008 Mercury Grand Marquis GS Sedan in Great Condition - 55,000 original miles!
This is a great vehicle, and the last of the Full Size, Full Frame Ford/Mercury sedans, known to many as the "Panther" series vehicles. Car is in great condition, with no rust, and no mechanical repairs needed. Tires are Cooper CS4 with 90% wear remaining, and Brakes are in good condition. Maintenance has been faithfully completed, and car runs and rides great. There are no warning lights illuminated indicating any malfunctioning systems and vehicle passed RI State vehicle inspection process in October 2017, and is good for two years. Black exterior paint with Gray vinyl interior, that looks great and has no tears. Headliner and dash are in excellent shape. Car drives perfect, with no squeaks or rattles, and is perfectly smooth on highway. 4.6 liter V8 runs strong and fast, and does not leak oil or burn oil. Transmission shifts perfectly, and does not leak at all. I have included pictures of the undercarriage which is rust free, and leak free. Car brakes very well, with no pulsations or vibrations. Car does not have a vinyl roof, which is a positive in most people"s minds. All power systems work. AC is ice cold. This car is ready for any type of driving, and is a perfect highway cruiser for any long road trip, again, the last of the real Ford/Mercury highway cruisers. It is no secret why these were used so often as Police vehicles, as they are fast and excellent handling, and very safe with a full frame that is separate from the unibody.
Here are the only downsides of the vehicle, just to be perfectly clear - The mileage readout is difficult to read in daylight, it is only readable at night with the dash lights on, evidently this in common in these cars, and requires the instrument cluster to be replaced. It is perfectly legible at night, and would not be an issue in the normal operation of the vehicle. The paint has not been buffed at all, and there are some slight blemishes from tree droppings and such over the years on the top surfaces, which I tried to show in pictures, and there are some slight cracking in some of the top surfaces, which most people would not notice, but I want to be 100% honest with the condition of car. There are some very light scuffs in the paint in places, should come out easily with a detail, again, I wanted show the true condition of the car. There is only one master key and remote, the spare was lost long ago, any Ford dealer should be able to cut a spare. One shallow dent in the rear trunk lid (pictured) that is about 3 inches in diameter, and the bumpers have some scuffs and scratches from parking lot bumps. There is one stain in the right rear carpet area, which looks like fruit juice caused it. That is it for the known issues on the vehicle.
$500 deposit via Paypal due at the close of the sale, the remainder is due at time of pickup, which must be within 2 weeks after the close of the sale.
