Vehicle description
You are bidding on a 2008 Honda Accord Coupe EX-L 2.4 Liter (4 cylinder) with 196,000 miles. It was purchased used in April 2011 with 60k highway miles from a private owner in Queens, NY. Since then, this car has been a daily driver by a non smoker until October of last year when a new auto was purchased. At that point, the car was occasionally driven. Currently, the car is not driven as it resides in an OH county which requires e-Check emissions testing and has not passed. The CEL (check engine light) is not on, however two monitors (EVAP and Catalyst) show as not cleared on the OBD-II reader and are required to clear to pass this testing. This was most likely due to the battery being unplugged a few months ago. The car has completed multiple drive cycles without the monitors clearing. Last week, an attempt was made to start the car but the engine would not turn over (one click and nothing). The battery was taken to O"Reillys and tested out ok so it appears to be a starter issue.
The engine does burn ~1 quart of oil every 1k miles. The oil consumption is a known issue for "08 Honda Accords. Since we"ve owned the car, the oil has been changed regularly every 4k miles (Valvoline 5w20) and transmission fluid flushed (Honda DW-1) every 15k miles for the last 135k miles. The front driver tire is losing air and it or the rim will most likely need replaced. Additionally, the TPMS and airbag lights remain on after startup. The car has not been involved in an accident.
Car is being sold as is and has no warranty. Based on the starter issue, THE CAR DOES NOT CURRENTLY RUN AND WILL NEED TOWED. If garage space was available this would not be for sale as the starter would be replaced which hopefully resolves that issue. Once fixed, this vehicle should be great transportation. This car has been a work horse to this point.
