This 2008 Ford Shelby GT500KR is one of 1,014 examples built for the 2008 model year, and one of 328 finished in Ebony Black with satin ebony stripes. It has just 1460 total miles. This is a one owner car that was housed in his collection since 2008. The “King of the Road” version of the GT500 was released as a limited-edition model that began life as a Shelby Mustang GT500, which was then shipped to the Shelby Automobiles facility in Las Vegas where it was upgraded to KR status before being shipped to dealers. The 5.4-liter supercharged V8 was enhanced with a Ford Racing Power Upgrade Pack which delivered 540 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. This particular car has been kept stock, and is now being offered with its window sticker, bill of sale, complete books, factory accessories, clean Carfax and AutoCheck reports, and a clean New Jersey title.Outside, this GT500KR has been kept stock throughout including all exterior badging. The factory suspension system utilizes a reverse-L independent MacPherson strut setup, 34 mm tubular sway bar, and Ford Racing front strut tower brace up front plus a three-link solid axle with coil springs, Panhard rod, and 24 mm solid sway bar in the rear. Uniquely tuned struts and shocks are mounted all around.The car retains its factory 18 x 9.5″ Alcoa forged aluminum wheels with SVT/Shelby center caps. The original set of 255/45 front and 285/40 rear Goodyear Eagle F1 tires are manufactured from a compound engineered specifically for the GT500KR. Braking is handled by Brembo four-piston aluminum calipers with 14″ discs up front and dual-piston calipers with 11.8″ discs out back.Under the carbon fiber hood is a supercharged 5.4-liter V8 producing 540 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque thanks to revised ignition and air/fuel calibration, a Ford Racing dual exhaust system, a cold-air intake system, and more. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Mechanicals have been kept stock. Per the manufacturer, the GT500KR can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and clear the standing quarter-mile in 12.5 seconds at 114 mph.
