Vehicle description
Bought this EOS about a year ago as a little weekend run around car for my wife but she just doesn"t drive it. As soon as I bought it, I had it serviced at Schumacher Volkswagen in West Palm Beach. What was suppose to be an oil change and inspection turned into a $4700 maintenance bill. She got a new oil pan (oil pan plug threads were stripped and was causing a small leak), new cv boots, new control arm brackets, new front sway bar links, new bushings everywhere, new front brake pads and rotors, new serpentine belt, new batteries, an alignment and new wiper blades for good measure. This work was all done at 98,837 miles and it now has 99,107. We"ve only put 270 miles on it in the last year.
Before buying this car, I did my homework. I wanted the 3.2 V6 because of its reliability and reputation as the best motor in the EOS line. This car was top of the line when it was new, with the better engine, upgraded wheels, and leather interior.
Mechanically this car is sound, but it does have its flaws. The paint looks good from 20 feet but the sun has gotten to it, there is some pealing of the clear coat (the worst spot is on the trunk which I"ve tried to show in one of the pictures). The paint itself still has a nice shine, maybe a paint shop could repair the clear coat, I"m not sure. The convertible top works fine but needs a new elastic retention string, this string pulls on a little plastic piece on each side when the top is going down. Because of the worn elastic, the two pieces don"t totally clear out of the way and you have to give them a little nudge with your hand. Easily done and can be done from the front seat, was never a big deal for us, so we never fixed it. Google this issue if you want to see exactly what I"m talking about. Another issue is that unfortunately the passenger window was left down and rain got on the seat, when we finally realized what had happened, damage was done to the seat (I"ve shown this in a picture). I have a set of tan tweed front seat covers from a VW Jetta that should fit, I will include them. The good news is there doesn"t seem to be any musty smells or anything.
I"ve tried to list this car as honestly as possible, but with that being said, this car is being sold as is with no warranties. I"m going to lose my ass on this sale, but I can"t stand to just see it sit any longer. My loss is your gain. Good luck! Bid high and bid often. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time.
