Vehicle description
Here is our GX. This has been one of my favorite vehicles ever, and I hate to see it go. Because I think the reason for selling is important to know, I recently took possession of my late father"s 87 E30 which needs a lot of work. I"ve committed to restoring that car for sentimental reasons, and I don"t have the space or budget to both build the GX and restore this vehicle.
My intention with this vehicle was to build an overlanding rig out of it. Unfortunately I never got to take it off road. While she"s in good shape, the vehicle is not 100% perfect (see below).Mileage is 133k and will go up a little. I love to drive it, so I do. Everything on the car works flawlessly at this point, I"d drive it anywhere.
Non-Nav, Non-KDSS. Never been off-road to my knowledge.CarFax available. Shows a solid and consistent maintenance history - just not always at the Lexus dealer.
No rust. The vehicle was purchased in Texas by the first owner and lived its life there and in Oklahoma (with 2nd owner) until I bought it. Undercarriage photos are included. Has third row seats, nothing wrong with them, I just have them stored in my attic at the moment. They are covered in plastic bags so they don"t get nasty or eaten up.
Modifications/addons: *Expedition Essentials dash mount with RAM mounts included as pictured (minus the center one which is for my radar detector, hah!). Both USBs powered. I have replacement wood dash sections to go with it, as I modified the ones its attached to. (so it is reversible if you prefer the regular dash look)
*Cigarette lighter replaced with dual USB
*NextBase 522GW dash cam attached to windshield with rear camera (currently taped to rear trim, this could be improved but I didn"t want to drill/cut the rear plastic trim yet). Wires are run through the headliner already.
*Alpine ILX-207 radio with CarPlay/Android Auto/Satellite. XM/Sirius antenna run under the headliner. Will come with factory radio/CD changer.
*Panavise lower dash mount with RAM ball mount on it.
*Dobinson"s Medium 2.5 inch lift, professionally installed. Air suspension components permanently removed.
*Dobinson"s Upper Control arms*Dobinson"s rear coil conversion
*Falken Wildpeak A/Ts - 32 inch tires - 255 80 R17 (stock rims)
*Ceramic coating added 08/20
*Full weather tech mats and cargo liner.
Maintenance since acquired. All receipts available for the buyer. *10/19 - Timing belt water pump, differential service, transmission service, and oil change
*11/19 - Conversion from air suspension, lift install, alignment. Replaced tie rods.
*03/20 - Replaced sway bar links
*05/20 - Front passenger fender replaced - see flaws section
*08/20 - had the dash replaced by Lexus dealership. Oil change brake fluid change.
*08/20 - transfer case input seal replaced, had a slight leak. Had the t-case serviced at this time.
*06/20 - windshield chip repaired (rock).
*03/21 - oil change / tire rotation*03/21 - had TPMS updated so it works with the larger tires.
*08/21 - oil change, tire rotation, chassis lube
Known flaws: *It was rear-ended in the previous owner"s possession. CarFax reports it as a minor accident. The bumper has a squish in it on the right side. The underside supports are fine. Didn"t matter to me, I was going to replace the bumper regardless.
*Previous owner appears to have done a lot of highway driving. The GX has the typical road rash on the front hood from thin paint(?)
*The front passenger side fender was damaged. I was sitting in a parking lot and a guy pulling a camper turned too close and crunched the front end. Headlight, fender, and front bumper were replaced. Listed as a minor accident on CarFax.
*The rear left bumper has a spider web pattern in it, like something was dropped on it. Didn"t matter - again - because bumper was going to be replaced by something steel.
*The taillights have some scratches on them. My guess is the previous owner parked under something on the regular that rubbed.
*Front driver"s side fender has a dime-sized dent in it, that a scratch proceeds from. It was poorly touched up, but not too noticeable.
*The driver"s side air vent is missing the vent-slice adjuster. I"ve not gotten around to finding one that matches yet. It can be adjusted by finger.
*Driver"s side seat shows typical wear on the lower bolster. Not too bad though. Not ripped but shows the beginning of cracking.
*The center of the rear seat has what appears to be a cigarette burn in it, that was patched. Not too noticeable but there.
*Which brings me to the last flaw. The previous owner was a smoker. I"ve spent considerable time and money on removing the odor. My wife says it"s not there anymore. I still think it"s sort of there - she would tell you I"m just "particular." It is not bad, either way and will improve.
