This is super fun to drive; 0-60mph less than 6sec. It is faster than a Corvette through a Slalom Course!
This thing is an amazing family hauler wagon and true "sleeper". Easily cruise in comfort or just as easily scare your mother (I did ;-)
This is currently my Daily Driver. I drive it to BHam (200mi) about 2x a week.
I have been/am working with an independent Volvo Specialist to make sure this wagon is in great condition. Runs smooth and effortless.
I like to have all of my cards on the table. Everything I know, I want you to know before you buy it; good or bad.
I LOVE this wagon, but it is too much of a temptation for me to get into trouble. I am going to buy an old Subaru next to keep me busy (trades considered).
In last 3 months:
-Full mechanic inspection: Mechanical Rated Excellent Condition.
-Transmission professionally serviced and re-programmed.
-Engine computer serviced and updates installed.
-Oil Pan Gasket Seals Replaced.
-Engine Serviced and Tuned.
-A/C Repaired and Serviced.
-Fuel Pump replaced.
-Fuel Pump Controller replaced.
-Driver Window Regulator replaced.
-Driver HID Headlight replaced.
-VVT solenoids replaced.
-Fixed Driver Door Handle
-Engine Wiring Harness repaired by re-soldering and insulation taping.
-COVETED Front 4C E-Struts replaced with Mechanical Struts. More reliable and inexpensive to maintain - ready for direct Coilover conversion if desired.
Currently invested $4,200+ in repairs/updates in the last 3 months.
Still Needs Work:
-Wiring is the next step in the life of this rare Volvo. The early-mid 2000 Volvos ALL have poor insulation on the wiring. The Volvo specialist spent time re-soldering and wrapping all the connections in the engine harness. However, he wants to replace all of the wiring before moving further.
-Has "Check Engine" code for new oil solenoids. Can not tease out why it is throwing this code. Checked most everything out. Volvo mechanic thinks it is probably related to the wiring harness issue.
-Engine computer may need replaced. Again, related to the wiring harness issues. The "logic" circuit is not "learning" and adjusting parameters for components.
-Leather seats show some wear and there are a few small tears
-Notorious Volvo a/c and radio controls a little finicky
