Vehicle description
2006 Pontiac GTO with the 6.0L LS2 V8 and a 6-speed manual transmission. This is a private sale and I have a clear title in hand ready to go. Please only bid if you have the funds to buy the car and fully intend on completing the transaction. I reserve the right to cancel bids from bidders with low feedback, negative feedback or from outside North America.
I purchased this car last year to have as a third vehicle. However, now I have some expensive home improvements to make so the third vehicle must go. The car drives very well. I have taken it on a 500 mile round trip and it did great. The transmission shifts well through all the gears. I park the car on the same spot in my garage and it leaves no fluids on the floor. The car is fully stock with the exception of an aftermarket catback exhaust. I have two keyfobs and all manuals.
The previous owner was an elderly gentlemen who in six years of ownership only put about 10,000 miles on it. The car has lived in California and Arizona its entire life, so there is no rust or corrosion issues. Also, judging by the paint, it looks like the car has been garaged most of its life. During my ownership, I have put new tires, a new battery, a new exhaust, and new front brakes on the car. The brakes alone were about $700 since I went with good quality pads and drilled rotors. The previous owner told me he had put a new clutch in the car before he sold it to me. I took the car for an inspection to a local mechanic to see if there was anything needing attention on the car before selling it. This is what they noted from the inspection: "Front brakes new. Rear 7MM. Belts and hoses look good. Fluids all good. Radiator looks fairly new. Computer checks good. Small oil seep from oil cooler line".
The interior of the car is almost in excellent condition. There are no tears on the seats, no stains on the carpets, no sag on the headliner and no cracks on the dash. On the exterior, while the paint seems to be in good condition, there are some small scratches, scuffs and dings. Most notably on the passenger side of the front bumper there is a scuff above the fog light. You can see it on the pictures if you zoom in.
Here are some flaws that I am aware of on the car: (1) The passenger door lock does not work with the keyfob or the interior lock/unlock button. You have to operate that lock manually. You have to manually lock it before engaging the car alarm with the keyfob. (2) One of the keyfobs is split open and won"t snap back in place. It would need the vessel replace or it would have to be glued together. However, both the key part and fob are operational. The other keyfob has no issues. (3) The gas cap lid does not lock. It hasn"t been a problem for me because the lid opens manually and stays closed while driving. (4) There is a small crack on one of the grill inserts.
This car gets a lot of attention. I have never owned a car where random people walk up to me at the gas station or parking lots to talk about the car. The car is very comfortable. I am 6"1" and fit in it very comfortably. The rear sits are surprisingly comfortable as well. However, getting to the back seats is not as easy for adults but once there it is comfortable.
Please understand that you are buying a 15 year old car and wear and tear should be expected. I have described the car to the best of my knowledge and ability. However, I am not a mechanic or car dealer. As such, this car is sold as-is, where-is, with no warranty. Therefore, you should do your due diligence like in any car purchase. Before the end of the auction, you are welcome to look at the car in person, test drive it, inspect it, or send your own inspector to inspected (all this at your own cost). Inspections will not happen after the auction is over.
The reserve price is very reasonable. It is certainly less than what you would pay for a manual transmission 6.0L GTO with this mileage at a dealership. Please don"t ask for the reserve price early in the auction. I might disclose it as the bidding gets close to it.
If you win the auction, you are required to submit a non-refundable $500 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours and the rest of the payment is due within 7 days. Payment is acceptable via cash (in-person), cashier"s check or wire transfer. The car and title will not be released until payment clears.
Shipping is your responsibility. However, I will assist as much as possible with communicating with the shipper regarding pick-up and making the car available for pick-up. The title can be overnighted separately. Alternatively, you are free to pick up the car in person. I am confident the car can make any long drive.
Thank you for looking at my listing and if you have any questions, feel free to ask.
