Vehicle description

2006 Monte Carlo dressed up as an Intimidator Edition. Yes, it’s true, there was not a 2006 Intimidator Edition, but, I located and installed everything I could find except the dash badging. This is a very clean, completely rust free 2006 Monte Carlo SS with the 5.3L V 8 option. Dale Earnhardt Sr. worked closely with GM in the design of this, the 5 th generation Monte Carlo, in early 1998, and NASCAR adopted the body in 1999. All production versions were front wheel drive, V6engines until 2006, so Dale never got to see the true fun version of the W body style. I can’t help but think he would see this car and give it smile and a thumbs up. This car has had as close as you can get to a full frame off restoration, as it is a unibody car. The car was stripped down to the shell before all body and paint work was done. It has a custom black with silver metallic accent stripes. The Interior is all leather with heated seats and perfect carpet and panels. The shell was Dyna lined for sound deadening. The rolling chassis is completely replaced, all bearings, break rotors, pads, calipers drive axles, and struts. Tires and TP sensors are new. The original 5.3L LS4 was bored out to 5.7L. LS 243 head sand LS1 springs were installed. The intake is a LS6 with a 90MM throttle body with a matched 90MM MAF housing. The cam is a GMPP .525 .525 hot cam. Pistons are Mahle forged flat top LS units with coated skirts. All bearing used are GMH (heavy duty) racing bearings. The rods are stock LS powder steel I beam with ARP bolts. All head and main cap bolts were replaced with torque to yield ARP bolts. The stock air box was modified to flow more than enough air through a stock air filter and keep a factory look and better performance. The engine has a DOD delete kit including Lingenfelter oil passage plugs. The custom tune produced 457HP and 400 ft/lbs of torque to the wheels, I would approximate525HP at the flywheel. The trans is the stock 4T65E HD with a shift correction kit, improved 2 nd and 3rd clutch packs, and a hardened input shaft to handle the extra power. All hoses, belts and filters are new Delco parts. All fluids are better than factory spec. including Mobile One engine oil. The odometer reads 140K, but there is less than 500 miles since the complete restoration. As many receipts and report sheets as I can locate will be included.
