Vehicle description
2006 Mini Cooper S R53 hatchback, 6 speed manual (limited slip from JCW). Pepper white / grey cloth heated seats. rare Aero trim package and "slick top" (no sunroof). 170k miles. enthusiast / mechanic owned very well maintained. H&R springs / Bilstein sport suspension (about an inch lower than stock S). Powerflex suspension bushings. 18" Sparco Assetto wheels / Sumitomo 215/35/R18 tires. factory JCW air box. full JCW cat back exhaust, it has an aftermarket header (not sure if Milltek?), but has really nice welds and sounds great, it"s also California legal. anthracite (black) headliner. stock stereo with aux input. In April of 2019 this car had engine pulled out and got * NEW: spark plugs, valve cover gasket, belt tensioner / pulleys, drive belt, 16% M7 reduction pulley, water pump, thermostat / thermostat housing, oil pan gasket, oil pan, oil stand / housing gasket, oil cooler seals, crank position seal, cam position seal, chain tensioner, dip stick / tube seals, power steering reservoir, power steering supply and return lines, JCW air filter, Valeo single mass flywheel conversion & clutch / throwout bearing, clutch slave cylinder, output shaft seals, both front CV axles, both front wheel bearing / hub assemblies, engine mount, starter, upper and lower coolant hoses, heater hoses, expansion tank. in short this car has recently had a ton of maintenance. it also got a new front Aero bumper in March 2019 (hard to find and $$$), front bumper and hood grills, wheels and tires were bought new last month from Tire Rack (end of July) and have maybe 1k miles on them (they"re in perfect shape, no damage or scratches). this car doesn"t leak any fluids, doesn"t burn oil, has no warning lights or electrical issues, no check engine light, no air bag light etc. . Ice cold AC. clean CA title, clean smog. i have receipts for everything. i also have a complete well maintained JCW motor with supercharger and ECU from my other parted out 2006 cooper if interested and would add $1000 to selling price.
Pros: Clean west coast rust free car. rare Aero package. lots of new work, parts & very well maintained, drives great, handles great, sounds great, tons of fun to drive.
Cons: faded headlights (plastic is faded but they work fine), normal rock chips in hood (minor), a couple chips in windshield (no cracks and not pitted), rear hatch has a small dent & touched up, also small dent near left rear tail lamp (see photos). rear bumper has a small crack and is scuffed. the dents in the rear didn"t and don"t bother me (they"re small and could be fixed by a paintless dent repair person). when people say "the middle of nowhere", that"s where i live about 2 hours northeast of los angeles in Ridgecrest Ca.
there are plenty of cheap $3-$4k R53"s out there however the ones i"ve seen looked nice but needed tons of work! in my opinion this $6500-ish R53 will cost less than the $4k cars in the long run. this car doesn"t need anything more than to be driven. all of the necessary & expensive repairs and maintenance has been done. any questions please ask. thanks.
