Vehicle description
Affectionately known to her driver and passengers as "Winnie Cooper," this car is more than an carefully cared-for, lovingly driven Royal Grey 2006 MINI Cooper S hardtop with a comically low 72,000 miles- she"s a member of the family. And like most members of our family, we"d hate to see her go. But times change and our growing household means a need for a larger auto.
Let me take you through some of her finer features:
- Supercharged 168hp 1.6L, inline-4 cylinder engine
- 6-speed manual transmission
- 4-wheel ABS disc brakes
- Two-tone leatherette interior
- 16" race-inspired alloy wheels
- Racing stripes
- Cruise control
- Harman Kardon 6-speaker sound system
- Dynamic Stability Control (DSC)
- CLEAN Title
- OPTIONAL Thule roof rack (configured to hold 2 bikes)
Winnie is powered by a 1.6 liter intercooled OHC inline 4-cylinder, supercharged engine. If you"ve never sat behind the wheel of a BMW-era MINI, the pre-2007 supercharged engines are the way to go, with absolutely none of the turbo lag seen in later versions. Her 168 horsepower feels like a lot more than that when you consider her curb weight is a slight 2,600 lbs. She"s a real thoroughbread on the straights and a banshee in the curves.
And man, has she seen some curves- California coastal highways, the Texas Hill Country, the Oregon coast, Napa Valley and the pines of northern Arizona. Every mile on that odometer has another story to tell. In January 2003, Road & Track tested the new and improved MINI and found it was the 3rd fastest car in the slalom course that it had EVER tested, beating out the McLaren F1 and the Caterham 7. Can"t tell you how many times I had to wipe a shit-eating grin off my face after a few particularly memorable turns.
Winnie comes complete with a two-tone (grey and black) leatherette interior, multifunction steering wheel w/ cruise control, dual-pane panoramic sunroof/moonroof, automatic air conditioning and on-board computer. In addition to having split fold down rear seats for expandable cargo space and a 3-spoke leather steering wheel, she"s equipped with a top-of-the-line Harman Kardon sound system, pre-wired to interface w/ the iPod Classic.
From a ride standpoint, get ready to feel like you"re on your favorite ride at the carnival. Every day. She"s equipped with all-season traction control (ASC), sport suspension with front and rear anti-roll bars, Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), race-inspired 16" alloy wheels, 6-way adjustable sport seats, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and the Cockpit Chrono Package, so that whether you"re on the track or just idling through the Fry"s parking lot, you never have to look down to check your stats.
Speaking of stats, this car gets excellent MPG for the kind of performance it gives you. I average well over 300 miles per ~13 gallons of fuel in the tank. The onboard computer currently reads an average MPG of 26, but I"ve gotten as much as 39 MPG on the highway.
Winnie can be yours either with or without the THULE roof rack, currently configured to hold 2 bikes and detached front wheels.
Happy to answer any and all questions. I have every receipt for work done on the car and can get a CARFAX report upon request. Light wear on the exterior paint and seats, normal for age. Can provide pictures upon request.
