2006 GMC Savana 3500 Extended Cargo 4x4 van
Duramax Diesel 6.6L LBZ 117k miles
This van has been converted to 4x4 in 2020. We used a 2006 Quigley 4x4 gas van as a donor for the frame and components. Both the van and the donor frame were California vehicles and have absolutely no rust. Every fastener comes undone smoothly if needed for future servicing.
This van was a dealer demo in 2006 for the first 4,000 miles, and then was sold and stayed with one private owner in Los Angeles area until my purchase of it in 2019.
The van has a clean title and clean Carfax history with dealership service entries and no accidents: Link to Carfax report .
The van rolled off the GM assembly line in 09/2005 in Silver Birch metallic color.
The van"s exterior has been completely repainted (same color, minus the roof) in May 2020 to address minor dents and scratches. I elected to have all the black plastic pieces (bumper pads, wiper cowling, door handles, tail light halo trim) painted the body color to give it an upscale, conversion van look. All badges were removed prior to repaint and then have been reapplied to their original locations, with the exception of the front door GMC3500 badges (which GM eliminated in 2007 and to the knowledgeable person would be a giveaway of the van"s age). We also gave the van a new front bumper and new headlights to replace the old, hazy ones. And a subtle 4x4 sticker on the back sides.
The interior has 2 good seats, and a nice leather-wrapped steering wheel. All backlight bulbs are good, including instrument cluster and HVAC controls.
I intentionally kept the interior blank slate, so the new owner would have the most freedom in upfitting this van to their particular needs.
The van is wearing GM OEM period correct aluminum 16" rims (2000-2007 GMT-800) with stock size LT245/75R16 tires. Tires have plenty of tread and are 8 years old. I intentionally did not install new tires on this van, knowing that the tire choice - like engine oil - is a very subjective matter for many, or the buyer may choose to go with custom wheels and tires. Although cannot go too crazy with the sliding door. Tires are good and I won"t hesitate driving across the country in them. Spare tire is present. If you"re interested in flying out to drive the vehicle back home, we can arrange new tires.
The LBZ engine is completely stock and untouched. It runs smooth, no smoke, has no engine codes, and has healthy injector balance rates. Got tons of power! CA smog done last month.
4L80e transmission, manual shift transfer case (4LO, Neutral, 4HI, 2HI), 4WD indicator on dash.
Manual windows, manual mirrors, manual locks, one air bag (steering wheel). Aftermarket Pioneer radio with retained chime. A/C blows ice cold and the heater is hot.
The windshield is new. The rear axle is a full-floating, Dana 70 axle with G80 locking differential.
The gear ratio is 3.73. There is a GM OEM trailer hitch rated at 10,000 lbs. Factory transmission cooler. All new steering components: new idler and pitman arms, inner and outer tie rods plus alignment performed.
This is a non-smoker and no pets vehicle.
We also offer several upgrades for the van, such as:
Aluminum roof rack - System One brand - $600. 7-pin trailer connector & brake controller wiring - $300 labor charge + parts. Conversion/RV van windows - several sizes available - $400 per window + optional $300 install charge. Swiveling front seats - luxurious beige leather - out of a low mileage 2008 Pleasure way class B RV - excellent condition and extremely comfortable, pics upon request - $1,800 for the pair installed. Powered back seat/sofa/bed - 3 seater bench that becomes a bed with the push of a button - beige leather - out of the same 2008 Pleasure way - $1500. 4-high mod - so that the low beams remain on while the high beams are on. This actually is a factory logic on 2008+ vans, but not on pre-2007 for some reason. $100. A couple of High tops available Full Roadtrek 190 conversion available - using a donor RV - high top, windows, electrical, plumbing, holding tanks, water heater, furnace, toilet, kitchen, refrigerator, propane tank, stove, shower, awning, interior build out, Onan generator - $30,000.
