I am selling a 2006 Ferrari F430 Spider in Red with a Tan interior. I purchased it privately with the intent to daily drive it, and it turned out that the seller was not completely honest with me about the car. While it has received a lot of proper maintenance from Ferrari (see below) it has some issues that should be taken care of that he misrepresented to me when I purchased it.
It is in Rosso Corsa with Tan Power Daytona seats. It is optioned with red piping, factory red carpets, carbon fiber interior trim, and yellow tachometer. It does not have the carbon brake option. It"s a beautiful car, but after driving it a bit, I have decided the Ferrari experience is not for me. It is too loud, draws too much attention, and is not practical. I thought I knew what that meant, but it is more than you think when you get to the point of driving it every day! Between being unhappy with the experience of purchasing it (I was lied to about its condition and paid too much) and realizing my personality shouldn"t be daily driving a Ferrari anymore, I am selling it.
It received a new clutch and flywheel at 35k miles, and the F1 pump was replaced with an updated pump. There has been a lot of recent maintenance over the last 10k miles, mostly through the Ferrari dealership, including motor mounts, valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, an ignition coil, thermostat, a/c compressor, variators, tires, rear main seal, and clutch. The 30k service was completed at Ferrari at 27k miles.
Regarding what the seller was not honest about: The ediff light comes on during driving a lot of the times it is driven. The exhaust manifolds need replacement (this is common due to a design flaw), it needs axle boots, and the A/C needs a recharge (according to Ferrari). The engine is healthy with good numbers, and the car runs great and is quite fast. It has documentation and a number of accessories that come with it. It has some cosmetic imperfections that are not very noticeable at 10 feet. It also has had a ceramic coating applied. I don"t know of or see any prior paintwork and items such as the power seats, windows, top, mirrors, etc. are working properly. I don"t have a local mechanic and I am not going to pay Ferrari to fix items on a car that I feel badly driving when someone else can get it done a lot cheaper and enjoy it, so I have decided to sell it and take a very significant loss. This will be a great deal for the right person with access to a knowledgeable and reasonable mechanic, as it is the lowest priced F430 Spider in the country and I am negotiable.
The title is on hand and clean. Both keys, manuals, car cover, seat covers, tool kits, etc. are there. It has a clean Carfax with two owners. It comes with maintenance records from Ferrari to show the work that was done. The clear title is on hand with no liens. I prefer to sell outright but am willing to consider a more conservative vehicle as a partial trade. I am able to meet a transport for pickup, but the transport must be arranged buy the buyer.
