Vehicle description
Vehicle Details 404.457.6882 / [email protected] . For your consideration Dr4 industries / Dr4watches has an offer my own personal 2006 Aston Martin Vanquish S. There are Aston Martin automobiles and then there is this one. The 2005 and 2006 Aston Martin Vanquish GTs are the "last of the handbuilts" from the Newport Pagnell facility. Less than 1,100 were made in those years and a fraction of those were left-hand drive and destined for the USA. I am the second owner (kindly check out via Carfax or AutoCheck to get more details) and have owned and driven this vehicle for about 6 years. It has been driven sparingly but consistently (e.g., maybe 6 times a month) and has always been garaged. Most importantly, it has had servicing from the Aston Martin dealership in Atlanta, Motorcars of Georgia. I am delighted to answer questions about the vehicle characteristics, servicing, pros and cons and such. Just reach out with any messages or requests prior to making a bid or an offer. The most important thing to know is that this is a special vehicle. With a V12 engine, 550bhp and an exhaust note that rivals any sportscar in the world, this is one refined beast to drive. The vehicle was advertised as Aston Martin's first 200mph car and when it sold had a higher MSRP than the Ford GT. Interestingly, these beasts - when one can find one - fetch about a 30% price premium in Europe versus a price that works for me. The market is moving up on these due to their rarity, power and refined beauty. This is the car in the otherwise forgettable James Bond installment, "Die Another Day." Not this exact car but the one in the movie is very similar to this gorgeous Solway Gray. Some other points to consider are as follows: 1) There is no backseat in this one. The other variant of the Vanquishes from this era are the 2+2 which is fine if you have kids under the age of 5 and want them to tag along. This is a sportscar first and foremost. Take your significant other out to dinner and the valet will park it in slot #1 or just blast around your local town solo. 2) The paddle shifting has a bit of a learning curve. Getting smooth and maximizing the power band will take a couple of days but it is very much worth it when you shift well and correctly from first to second gear and launch the car to 60mph. And then you have four more gears. Seek out tunnels for hitting the power-band and the sound will stay with you when you sleep at night. 3) Putting the car in reverse requires hitting the R button. Simple? Yes. If I had $1 for every time a valet did not know what to do I would be at least $8 lighter in my money clip. 4) Solway gray with the premium dark blue/gray alcantera seats and headliner. This color combo and premium interior is how you know you are not dealing with one of the more mundane Vanquishes in existance. 5) The 2006 has the much preferred and more modern display/infotronics. And it is still not particular good. Although better than the 2005 interior/infotronics, I do not use it for navigation. I keep it turned off. An iPhone with Google Maps is much better. 6) Issues and challenges with this car are as follows: A. The speakers in the back (aftermarket) have sunk down and need reseating. It was like this when I got it and it never bothered me. B. There is somesort of radar jamming or something similar device on the front airdamn which I do not think works. I would remove it but then there would likely be some sort of mounting hole or minor cosmetic thing to do so I just leave it. C. The tires have plenty of tread left but are several years old. Technically, one should replace them every 5 or so years but they work fine and are not turning into mush or anything anytime soon. The car and new owner deserve fresh tires so factor that into your thnking and buy whatever tread you want. D. Minor front-end scrapes to the airdam courtesy of Atlanta's roads. Cosmetic touch-ups like this required for this vehicle if you want to enter into a concourse. But you can launch this straight into whatever Cars and Coffee event in your area and represent James Bond. Though Pierce Brosnan was in "Die Another Day" this is very much a Connery Bond car with the Solway Gray. Solway is named after Solway Firth which is a Scottish border firth between Scotland and England, hence the nod to Connery. Additional considerations. E. At some point the clutch will need to be replaced (is working fine) and that will, of course, be dependent on how you drive the vehicle. F. And the same for new brake pads, etc. Best practice on these (and all exotics) is to use a trickle charger or drive the car regularly. Final selling points. This car has never been tracked (at least by me) and has gotten servicing at the best Aston Martin dealership in the SouthEast. I would be delighted to share the servicing history with you or you can talk to the fine head of servicing at Motorcars of Atlanta. Answers to common questions: 1) Why am I selling it? Simple. My business (high-end fine timepieces) is expanding and I want to buy more watch inventory. I do not use this vehicle enough to justify keeping it (though it only costs me about $1K a year to insure). I would like to put the capital into additional timepieces. Kindly check-out my listings of fine timepieces and my perfect transaction record with over 500 transactions. I am not in a rush to sell it and as such kindly do not waste our collective time with lowball offers. 2) Test drive? Sure. Reach out for more information. I will require that we vet each other (IDs, etc.) and meet at the local police station down the road. I drive it with you in the car for 4-10 miles so you can experience it and then we can discuss over tacos or a drink. I know the best places in NE Atlanta - my treat. 3) Prepurchase inspection? Sure. At your cost at an Aston Martin dealership or other high-end professional service center (e.g., Bentley). If anything comes up as necessary I will offer to pay for the labor and you pay for the parts. This is what I do when I buy/sell airplanes and it works well.
